I have been having good luck on Bargain and Haggle or at least that is what I thought. I have quite a few I'm waiting over 10 days for payment on. I have sent some reminder emails and noone is replying. On one for them, the address is no longer good. Any one else having this problem there? Also it got really quiet since Monday.

WHEW! I was thinking I was the only one with these problems. I have been having the same experience. About the only difference is that I have not run across any "gone bad" adresses yet, and a couple of my reminder e-mails have responded to say "I don't want to purchase this". Activity on the site also died for me about Monday.

Thanks! I'm glad it is just not me too! LOL I wonder if they were doing some advertising that was over on Monday? These last two mornings were the first in quite awhile I didn't have some offers waiting for me.

I've heard deadbeats are a problem on B&H. I've had a really bad experience w/one. She jumped in & offered $65 on an item I listed at $75. She contacted me immediately. Then nothing. Almost 2 weeks went by & I called her. She said she had no intentions of paying....she didn't have any $$$. Trying to do the right thing, I left her a "poor" comment. She waited about a month & did the same for me. Ugh! Can't win with deadbeats!

Yeah I seem to have gotten my first deadbeat. Responded right away saying she would pay by money order, never received. Sent a second email and no response. The deal closed on Jun 28, at the end of this week if I don't have payment in hand I'll have to leave poor feedback and ask B&H for a credit.

Yes, I have been having lots of deadbeats too. I am even having a worse time getting refunds for the sales charges. I have sent four requests to try to get refunds but still no luck.
Great site otherwise.

I have told Bargain & Haggle to have a section for seller to request credit in the past. Like Ebay, requesting refund is easy. Apparently, they like e-mails. Getting credits can be difficult with them. I get at least 20 dead bidders each month. I wish B&H can check on each buyer's credit...

chenillec,
20 deadbeats a month on B&H??? You must be making a ton of sales to generate those kinds of #s!
This is why a site with an automatic payment mechanism makes sense.

20 does seem like an awful lot. I have had a few deadbeats (as many as any other site I have used), but I find them to be really accomodating at giving credits.
Bargain and Haggle is still by far the most successful venue for me and I can handle a deadbeat or two (it happens to me on eBay quite often also).

Good morning KC
I agree with you! When Yahoo & Ebay first started, I got just as many "deadbeats"
and getting a refund was like pullimg teeth!
It looks like there is a few new sellers
that have'nt much experience or thay have had a lot of luck!

A ton of new bidders must be coming to B&H. They've been moving up the Jupiter Media Matrix Internet traffic rankings. Their newsletter says they were ranked 310th and moving up. This was prior to June. The site's doing well while flying under the radar. Plus they're adding TIAS users to the B&H family. Anyone know how many antique dealers TIAS brings in?

Hi eSeller004,
I saw the information! I only know one thing? I went from only a few weekend sales to bid's "all week long".
Maybe I should'nt say anything and keep a good thing to myself. (lol) I have a feeling B&H is going to be the (Silent Killer)!

Hi collectstocks2,
Maybe, and they've got the advantage of no listing fees for sellers. How can eBay compete with that? Just keep the momentum going!

I'm doing very good on Bargain and Haggle too. I just don't want the deadbeats to wreck it. I suppose that we have to have some since they can be a problem on every site.

Hi moonmem,
I don't think this is going to be the norm. for this site. But! if you check around, even the older site have no way of stopping this? Credit checks don't seem to matter! Even the amount of bids a new bidder can have!
But! With B&H If you have a feeling about a new bidder with bids on 5 or 6 of your best items. You can always "walk away"
I love it !!

I hope you are right! I also like the control the seller has. If they got this deadbeat problem under control or at least make it easier to request credit for deadbeats, they could be the best auction site out there.

Wonder what the average selling price is for B&H items? You can actually sell items priced $20 and up on B&H on a regular basis, whereas it's near impossible on sites like ePier and Bidville. Of course you can sell the elcheapo items that most shove on eBay too and still make good profits --- profits not just sales! I don't know where they're advertising but it seems to be working.

moonmem,
I think B&H will lead the way! As far as Deadbeats go? Yahoo and E-bay allowed them to run amuck and set a presidents for all other auctions.
I will leave bad feedback for the next seller to see!
I wish you a lot of luck.

eSeller004,
I have been averaging around the $10 & $30 mark at a pretty steady rate for the last 3 months, and it just keeps getting better!
I tried ePier and Bidville for munths. But! I just could'nt make any real sale's? I only sold a few small priced items and that was mostly to other sellers!
Don't get me wrong! I liked the people on those sites. But, I did not need the social
contact!
I do this full time and I need the $$$$
"MONEY HONEY"!!!

Be aware on B&H deadbeats. There are many dead bidders on there. I have one buyer bid over 30 of my items with no intention to pay. After file the credit with B&H. I gave her 5 negative feedbacks. She retaliated by giving me 14 negative feedbacks. She insisit I was rude to her which is not true. As a honest seller, I am true to my product and treat my customers in friendly manner. I was never rude to anyone on-line.
I think she didn't want to pay and just think of some execuse to nail me. Now she is threathening me with e-mails and attempt to suit me. She is bidding on every single one of my item with $1. She has done this to many other sellers on barain and haggle.
I have written to B&H. Apparently, bargain and haggle are not doing anything about it. Including credit my account with so many dead bidders. I have not hear from them for a while.

Why doesn't BnH kick her off? Can you leave comment when someone leaves you negative feedback? I don't have any yet, but I'm sure some is coming very soon. I have one negged one person, but there are 5 or 6 current ones that I don't think are going to pay.

B&H has not kick her off. She is still on there happy bidding. She also has notified my bidders not to bid on my items. This person has lots of time on her hands. Right now, I don't have much traffic to my items.

(Hi moonmem). I hate to interfere, But! you seem to be repeating yourself on two diferent chats for B&H?
Everyone comes across deadbeats in any auction! I think if you were to contact B&H as many times as you have posted here, you
might feel better about the site?
I have asked for refunds and asked to have deadbeats removed and thay have done both for me!
It seems there is going to be one to take there place as soon as one goes. I think there doing a great job.

I have contracted BnH and requested FVF for the deadbeats thanks. I haven't seen any indication that my account has been credited. Bargain and Haggle has a higher percentage of deadbeats and slow payers than I have encountered on any other site. Sorry but true for me! I really like the site, I hope they can get this under control. As for me repeating myself, oh well.
