I just looked at the Carnaby site-It's no different in ccontent than EBAY, Yahoo, or amazaon- What is needed is a well promoted speciat;y site that caters strictly and I do mean strictly to the antiques and collectibles market- That's how EBAY got started but they have long abandoned that market-We went to an antiques flea market in a neighboring state yesterday and the line to get in was 2 miles long 4 hours after it opened-When was the last time you saw a line like that to get in to a computer store or a used car lot????? We don't need more wannabes -we need mare hey look at me I different-

There are quite a few alternatives for strictly antique type items, and more are in the works even as I type this.
Yes, Carnaby does have several things that would remind me of eBay. Quite a bit of their site is set up very similarly. I can't say I'm thrilled about that but that's their choice.
Why is someone building a site such as this? Because eBay is too big for their britches and needs some darned good competition! I say bring 'em on, the more the better, and hopefully at least one of them will have what it takes to put in a serious run for their money.
Personally I dont' buy 'antiques'. I do buy quite a few other odds and ends, though, and I don't find them on the antique sites. JMHO on that one.
