The percent of posts here made by people who are so miserable with their lives that they feel the need to throw stones at those of us who walk around with a smile on our face.
Kind of reminds me of the nerds in school who thought it made them cool to try and stump people with trivia questions to try and make themselves look smart. I cant wait for people with lots of time on their hands to scroll through the posts and give me an answer. Lets try doing it week by week for the last month.

personally, Im finding it a waste of time to read the "other online auctions" thread. Beyond the bantering about the sell through rates and other disgruntledness, Im not learning a hell of a lot from anyone on these sites.
I don't sell on Ebay, but I find that thread to contain alot more relelvant auction information
(Edited to correct spelling)

Agree that personal attacks, excess bashing of sites, and unabashed site promotion have made these threads a "turn off". What would be useful would be more info regarding new/promising sites, great ideas and features, etc., and less of this:
SELL THRU RATE AT SHOPPER DOPPLER AUCTIONS (http://www.shopperdoppler.com):
0 sales divided by 0 listings in 750 categories equals... hmmmm... all my calculator says is "DIV BY 0"...

Folks, I couldn't agree more. (And Balls and Strikes, don't be quite so hard on us 'nerd' types, LOL, though I agree whole-heartedly this numbers thing is getting downright old).
I agree, the eBay Outlook board is often times quite educational. I think, though, most of us have already been through everything that's posted there by the time we get to this forum. HOWEVER, I don't think that means those questons couldn't and shouldn't be asked here.
Kenzy, where'd you find Shopper Doppler? I thought that was the best kept secret on the entire internet. I was there a few months ago but haven't had the time to get back and take a better look.

I've been tracking auction sites (like you have, but my listing page is not as pretty as yours *grin*-- you're one of my heroes):

I perodically use Google to look up online auction sites, and then add 'em to the list. Shopper Doppler showed up briefly on one such scan a while ago.
I must admit a weakness for "the little guy" sites, like eBay was before 1998. A-waitin' and a-wondering who's gonna be eBay's true competition in the future-- hence the list. Someday that challenge is gonna happen... couldn't possibly come from a site that does something as silly as listing Pez dispensers, eh what?

Kenzy, you've done a great job putting that together! I've been thinking for the past while that my page needs to be re-vamped a little bit and have thought for a couple of months I needed to add a 'defunct' section as well. Great minds think alike?
I haven't had as much time as I'd like lately to do updates, either. My last major update to the auction page was close to a couple of months ago.
I'm not so sure how 'pretty' my auctions page is, LOL. I did the design and Hubby and kids loved it so I left it that way. I've been thinking seriously about some re-work there, LOL.
