I couldn't get my first listing posted at B&H. I kept getting kicked back to log-in. The log-in was good.So I sent an email to support. Got the generated email saying it would be routed to the correct person--12 hrs later-- still nothing. Anyone know how long it takes them to answer?

It usually takes them at least a day to respond to anything.

Sounds like they're growing too fast and haven't increased customer service personnel to handle the growth rate. eBay did the same thing and now their customer service is horrible!

Then again it's not wise for a small site like BargainandHaggle to increase expenses right now by taking on additional personnel while the economy is reeling. They, like all other dot-coms, have to conserve limited cash or they won't be around too long. From what I can see they're doing a great job overall, and they're showing others you really can be successful with a free listing site that relies on FVFs. There's nothing eBay or anyone else can do to compete with FREE listings.

Well, 36 hrs later I did get an email from a manager explaining that he saw my post here and that they had been having a training session on a new feature and he apologized. A few hrs after that I did get a canned message from support about image file sizes having to be under 100K. Mine are. I have been online 4 1/2 yrs and am pretty concious of load times.I wrote back and said thanks for the canned reply--then I got the real person to email . On a scale of 1-10. I'd give them a 4 --and only because the manager wrote to me.

I have 17 years in marketing and work in customer service and satisfaction behind my opinion. Perhaps if they sent a follow-up customer satisfaction survey out to all contacts with their Support people for about a month or so, they could better pinpoint their problems. And I know this is easily done because my ISP support does it-it's automated. If they didn't want to do it for every contact--perhaps they a could for every contact that had a followup.JMHO

Is the 100K limit for each image, or the total for all 3 images you're allowed to upload?

Hi,

I'm new to this board (just started reading it), nice to meet you all!
I can't say much about the support service at B&H. I had the same problem with getting kicked back to the log-in screen. The solution is: you need to have cookies enabled on your browser. Then the log in will work. (figured it out by myself):>

Don;t even bother it smore of a hassle, I go two customers who said they never recieved there item and said they want a full refund or they will report me.I drop-ship and I had an item sent to me and it came on time, I wonder if soemthing funny was going on. They were very nsaty, and I've had people who haven't paid, its beter to go to another site or start a website of your own, I started one on www.webnow.com You can go to Yahoo clubs and start a club about the site and invite people on the member directory for advertising, its certainly better than dealing with this.

I had a question re: editing your items - couldn't seem to find the right sequence to do that.

Sent email yesterday afternoon, and had a response this morning with instructions on what I needed do.

I'd rate it an 8... I even have a queue forming for one of my items. 8)

Good luck getting your FVFs back for deadbeat bidders. I have been trying for months to get refunds and sent many e-mails and filled out their new form for them.
Great site but getting the FVFs back for deadbeats is a real negative and I hate to do things five or more times.

It's per image. And generous-- most will come in well under that. Mine for jewelry run about 75k and I use 150dpi-- I am told it's a waste online-- but I get sharper images.

I was just disappointed in the support beyond the manager getting back with me. That cheerful- the customer is always right attitude -was not part of the tech's attitude. The initial "we will route your message email" was acceptable. The canned reply to an ambiguous email with an answer that had nothing to do with my problem smacked of Yahoo's horrendous support system. So send me an email asking me to clarify what my settings are or what my problem is - don't send me 5 paragraphs on image sizes.

If you look at any stats on buyers/users concerns about online sites - first is trust in the seller and support issues are second. CSM is such a hot issue now that I can't believe any company isn't spending what they can on it.This needs to be a priority right behind advertising.

Hi all! This is my first post to this site... I've been reading it for a while though. I saw this post and just had to put my two cents in.

I found out about B&H through a friend of mine... I have been using ebay for a few years now (primarily buying) and got sick of it. Tried all the others, never found one I liked. So I tried this Bargain and Haggle site, and it's pretty cool if you ask me. I emailed Customer Support a few times when I had questions, and I usually get an answer within a half a day or so, but never a "canned" response. I was like "Wow! A human! and they listen!!" They even joked around with me a little while helping me... very nice!! Once, I got an snswer back almost IMMEDIATELY!!! (Within 5 minutes!!) That is what really made this site stand out to me... the personability.. I was amazed to hear otherwise! (Are you being rude in your emails or something? I made a joke with one of them... and they made a little joke back... so I know it wasn't a canned response!)

I haven't done a lot of selling online much, a few things on ebay... but I did sell a few things on B&H... two of them paid right away, but one I never heard from. Support directed me to their online form for a credit, and I was credited a few weeks later (I inquired about the time to credit... I guess they do it once a month, so it can take a while if you request it close to when they just process it). When I was credited, I got an invoice and everything! I never got that from ebay!

Ok... I'll get off the soapbox now. Hello again to everyone...

BargainandHaggle is outselling eBay for me this week! I sure like this site and I pay less in fees!
