for a few Bidvillers ... HotMail has an automatic virus checker (McCaffee) and it will not allow a user to open an infected attachment to email

That would be dirty! Do you real believe anyone would do something like that? Unless it is a friend I dont open them but even with friends email I run my Norton antivirus to be safe. Thanks for the tip lol. Have you sold any DVDs yet?

Thanks for the tip RB. I know probably 3 or 4 times a week, somebody sends an e-mail titled,"From Bob & Henrietta Livingston"
Seeking your advice on something.
Yeah Right! Why does the name change daily, who it is from. I have been told that it contains a worm virus. You know that is so weird. Almost every post about Bidville gets locked. Things that make you go Hmmmm!

Hello Everyone,
That virus/worm is internet wide. Please do a search at any of the virus software sites for more information.

Hi Joice ...
I posted that tip as there is a big panic over at Bidville about members sending virus attachments to other members, and no one over there knew how to protect themselves.
Of course, they don't want my help ...

Yes, i have had this sent to me numerous times..there is a thread is this a virus excellent info here at a/w i think it's on the ebay part..
the one "asking for help" is the sircam virus go to the symantec site & read about it..i had it sent to me 3 times from a previous auction winner(many auction people are getting this) comes as a pif or bat file...delete without opening, block sender,,& don't forget to take them out of your address book.....it got me from her address book, she didn't know it was sent..then went on to others..& sent to me again.from other people see?
lucky i don't open anything...
MANY PEOPLE SAY THIS..I ONLY OPEN THINGS FROM FAMILY OR FRIENDS..remember!!!!! they don't know they have it or it was sent...family & friends they got it..& it gets you from their address book..they never know..CALL THEM TO SEE IF THEY SENT YOU SOMETHING..don't open this stuff..no matter who it says it's from this is how it';s spreading...see?
also never TELEPHONE AN 809 area code they will send you a bunch of emails i got 600...it says phone here if this is a mistake.goes on a long time messge...DON'T do it..IT GOES ON YOUR PHONE BILL..THOUSANDS.like a 900 number only it is like $1,000.00 a minute..off shore phone company & you really owe it.(your phone company cannot help you).just delete & block sender..
good luck

They are back up, were only down for a few minutes, probably making site improvements.

Hi deichen ...
Actually, I think the AW Moderators have lightened up a little bit. I know that some of the recent posts would have been deleted immediately this time last year. You have to admit they show a lot of patience when they post things like "Please stay on topic" several times in a thread before locking it up when we don't listen.
There are "free-for-all sites" where everyone (well, almost everyone) can say anything they want about someone else, including posting direct links to others listings, and there are fan sites where the owner moderates out everything that s/he doesn't agree with.
AW seems to have found the middle of the road, and I am enjoying it
