Anywho, as is fairly evident there aren't hardly any listings on Auctionweiser at all. The site has partnerships with several different services and websites.

I want to know what everyone thinks about Auctionweiser. If you're using it, what's your experience? If you don't use it, why not?

I've listed a few auctions over the past months at Auctionweiser and actually sold some of them. That really shocked me as the site looks fairly dead.

Anyway, just looking for information here.

I have been going back and forth to this site a few times, and I keep on seeing improvements and new features every so often. A few months back, Carnaby had less than three hundred auctions before members of AuctionWatch came in and supported it. I think that auctionweiser needs times to expand. If some of the members that assisted Carnaby in lifting their auction base, why don't they help this site? Strange.. I see a lot of potential for them. Don't get me wrong, I used Carnaby too, but it just seems that every auction site has something to offer. It would be nice to see more of us at auctionweiser too.

Wallypog, if the site is dead, how to they pay the bills? An make improvements and add new services? This take time and money to do. Maybe they are waiting to see which site will fall next.. Maybe their waiting for a fall bang... Who knows... The only thing that I do know is that actionweiser has been mentioned here and there on AuctionWatch, but the members go try auctionweiser out.

If everyone is like me, I like to try different auction sites out. I think that if we as a group were able to help Carnaby out, I think we can band together as a group and help auctionweiser out.

Well, Auctionweiser seems to be active... as their announcements board has plenty of posts recently:

http://www.Auctionweiser.com/auctionweiser/announce.htm

Not sure why the low number of listings. Only "problem" with the site that I've found are the annoying "pop-up" links.

Oops--I think I used the term 'dead' in the wrong connotation.

I know the site is really far from dead. In fact I get a newsletter on a regular basis. Just a little while back they added a new, nicer message board area. They recently implemented their 'Gold' shops and a few days ago updated the bulk lister.

I agree--those pop-ups are annoying.

I'll certainly take a look as I feel any site that contributes to the alternative marketplace deserves consideration.

Can you expand on the "joining together" that you mentioned they are participating in.

I believe joining together is a needed direction for the smaller independent site to move towards.

I believe that the public that is willing to purchase online has heard of eBay and then has, at best, a general awareness that there are some number of additional sites elsewhere on the Internet with only one or two that they actually might visit.

Sort of like being in a community where there is a Wal-Mart and a hundred separate small stores scattered across the county.

If the small sites joined together they would take on the characteristic of a Mall.

Easier said than done but it is possible with links and cooperation.

Then it would be eBay or the Mall. The Mall would have greater visibility than any of the individual members, could afford joint advertising and share customers.

This may not yet be a widely acceptable idea online but we all are familiar with Malls that have stores of major competitors anchoring the structure and dozens of similar stores (like shoe stores) all renting adjoining space and doing profitable business.

I really hope this trend develops as I believe it could make a significant contribution to the alternative marketplace.

I am aware the MSN failed when attempting this as the "FairMarket" network but I think that had to do more with their execution and management and not with the validity of the idea.

Partners smartners.. 95% fruitless for any auction user. Basically a stall the user tactic and brings very very very very small amount of money to any newbeeee startup auction site. When you here.. we have been working to form new partnerships... run, don't walk. All partnerships do is bring the site some bunch of Logos !! Big deal, not.

I understand and agree with some of what most of you are saying. In order for any auction site to be "popular", they need a loyal following. I just think that since we have all help ePier, BidVille, and Carnaby a big boost, we should also give the same opportunity to Auctionweiser. Some of the services that they offer are wonderful.. I just signed up for a free web site with free hosting, group e-mail, site implementation, and more. All for free. I have also been using some of their other services as well in an on and off fashion. As in their
partners", this has nothing to do with links. They don't just offer a link exchange to their partner companies, they actually integrate the services into their network. I have no complaints against their support. I think it is better than most. I would say that their support is on the same level as eDeal or Carnaby. They have come a long way, and they could use our help to boost their activity. At least, more Auction Watch members should give it a try.

As in malls. I had done some checking on a few mall type sites (I.E. Mall.com, ShopGuide.com, SafeShoppingNetwork.com, and some others), their are in some of the top Internet malls (that are still in business).

I agree that all of the smaller auction sites should bind together, but I think they rather do it on their own. I guess will see who's left standing at the end. Also, I agree that the banner pop-ups are annoying, but its like every site has them now (Auction Watch, BidVille, Cnet, Cnbc, Microsoft, etc.).

Do they charge fees? If so what are they? When did this site open? Can you upload images to your listings? I list on several sites has anyone had any sales on this one? Thank you.

They do not charge anything for listing an item. They have a fee schedule at Http://www.Auctionweiser.com/General/Fees.htm. That should explain more.

I have used them in the past, and I use them a bit now. I have sold quiet a few auctions at my time there. I think that they've been around since 99' or so. You can upload a multiple number of photos in an auction. Or, you can link them to a web site address. They also have a lot of different types of auction formats like traditional, buy now, classified, haggler, reverse, etc.

It is definitely work a look.
