[This is a continuation of a previous thread, now locked.]

Here's today's "in-progress" sell-through rate for the SPORTMANIA sale.

Baseball Cards - 48 bids / 3,000+ listings
Hockey Cards - 6 bids / 105 listings
Sports Memorabilia - 8 bids / 485 listings
Football Cards - 89 bids / 3,000+ listings
Other Sports Cards - 9 bids / 227 listings
Sports Autographs - 5 bids / 11 listings
Basketball Cards - 5 bids / 188 listings
Sporting Goods - 0 bids / 75 listings

Closed Auctions - 93 bids / 249 listings

TOTAL SPORTMANIA 261 bids / 7,508+ listings or <3.5% sell-through rate.

From the table:

08-24 715,695 397,941 (55.6%) 317,478
08-25 724,442 407,732 (56.1%) 316,710
08-26 726,390 408,753 (56.3%) 317,637
08-27 728,487 410,651 (56.4%) 317,836
08-28 728,823 412,568 (56.6%) 316,255
08-29 729,211 413,721 (56.7%) 315,490

If the increase in sportcards from 397,941 to 413,721 listings, or 15,780 listings, are all SPORTMANIA listings, then:

261 bids / 15,780 listings = 1.7% sell-through rate

If it will help to get a little more accuracy, the site posted on 8/26 PM that there were 9500 Sportsmania auctions. I also know from visual observation that there were a number of Sportsmania auction lots listed before 8/24.

I also recall seeing some non-sports items advertised under the banner ...

Let's see.

08-24 715,695 397,941 (55.6%) 317,478
08-25 724,442 407,732 (56.1%) 316,710
08-26 726,390 408,753 (56.3%) 317,637
08-27 728,487 410,651 (56.4%) 317,836
08-28 728,823 412,568 (56.6%) 316,255
08-29 729,211 413,721 (56.7%) 315,490

There were 408,753 sports stuff listings on August 26; 397,941 sports stuff listings on August 24. Difference is 10,812 listings.

So a "correction" of sorts would be 9,500 / 10,812 = 0.879

The overall SPORTMANIA sell-through rate would therefore be

261 / 15,780 x 0.879 = 261 / 13,870 = 1.9% sell-through rate.

Looks like a pretty good number to me.

THat too is assuming, but probably a lot closer than the way you were assuming before. But like I said, a more accurate view will probably not be available till labor day or so.

I doubt an accurate final sell-through rate can be determined after the end of the SPORTMANIA sale, because a search of all closed items will run up against the 3,000 limitation.

well, maybe I will ask CS for a sell through rate on sportmania, they should have the numbers.

There seems to be some sort of pest buzzing around in here, maybe AW is now being visited by some of whatBidville had?

Methinks "The Posse"/"My Gang"/"The I3S" has found a new range to browse on. And you wonder why I excused myself from that place

I hope she comes back like Cuff did. Why not abolish all BV posts like AW did with the other Bid-named aution site? If you want to talk about disruption then both sides are to blame.

"Methinks "The Posse"/"My Gang"/"The I3S" has found a new range to browse on. And you wonder why I excused myself from that place"

Not much different than the RDB gang that is already in place here.

Also make up your mind whether you "excused yourself" or "were kicked out". The reason seems to change from day to day, depending on the spin that you want to put on things.

Stavecards ... if it was allowed, I would paste the email I got yesterday from Steadie Eddie about my suspension. It explains everything and to be quite frank, I'm not really sure either

NOOOOO you cant ban bidville! This is the other auction forum! What will my life be without Bidville? I almost cried when Bidbay was banned!!!! My life has no other purpose but to track and attack these sights. The calculator repair man does not visit as much anymore You know, when I was gone last week I noticed how peaceful and happy this place was. I just had to come back and set things right.

What's the issue with BidVille here?
Surely there is room for more than the "Big 2" in the auction world?
