I supplied the number of Sportsmania listings that were listed as of 8/26. I do not appreciate you using my name as a "source" for your interpretation of the numbers past that date. Please drop my name as a source to validate your own opinions. They do not represent my views.

Edited as requested.
Interesting to note the number of bids as SPORTMANIA begins to wind down and the effect these sales will have on the overall sell-through rate.
total bids through 08-28 208 bids
total bids through 08-29 261 bids
total bids through 08-30 293 bids
Bidville's most recent weekly statistics report shows 10,878 total sales, with a sell-through rate of 1.5%, therefore each 100 sales contributes approximately 0.015% to the sell-through rate.
As with the previous lackluster $1-SALE at Bidville (and the equally lackluster CRAZY DAYZ sale at ePier), 300 or so SPORTMANIA sales divided between two reporting weeks (week ending August 29 and September 5) will have little, if any, effect on the overall sell-through rate.

Today's the final day of the SPORTMANIA sale. The "closed auctions" have already run up against the 3,000 search limitation, so dimview will have to take some periodic snapshots to get an idea of the event sell-through rate.

regarding the sportmania.
Yes the listings of a seller who had listed the mass amount of items have cycled off, and that is allowing better access to the remaining sellers items. I belive that may be a big part of the reason for the increase in activity.
I have asked Bidville CS if they can extend the time for the banner, I do not yet know if that will happen. There are some lessons being learned.

Even 400 sales split over two reporting weeks (200 in week ending 08-29, another 200 in week ending 09-05), on an auctionsite that has some 10,000 sales weekly, will have minimal, if any, effect.
Moderator, you may lock this and other dimview-originated August "stats" threads if you wish. Now that its September, new threads begin.
