About the pre-listing at gegy? They said to watch our mail today but so far I haven't heard anything. I was hoping to get a chance to prelist some stuff to give it a shot cos my weekdays will be kinda full. I was just wondering if anyone else received any mail from them yet or what ya'll think about this site and giving them another chance to get things right?!?

goldenpony,

BE VERY CAREFUL! The guy who runs the show over there has been found out to be a liar, scammer and spammer by his own admission.

He hired someone to harvest emails from ebay. He set up a phony auction news site and promoted Gegy, then denied any involvement. Then turned around and admitted the involvement. A scary bunch over there to be sure.

Whatever your do, DO NOT give out any financial info, ie: CC or bank acct info.

For more info, read here:
Gegy's lies exposed

Speak of the devil!

Pre-launch registration has been brisk indeed over the past 14 days. To
date, thousands of new members have joined Gegy.com

We wanted to personally thank you for your registration! We look forward to
serving you as an important member of the Gegy Community.

As promised, here is the information regarding pre-launch auction listings:

Firstly, let us tell you that the response from new registered sellers was
enormous, and we were constantly asked 2 important questions. WHEN can I
start listing my auctions at Gegy.com? And secondly, how much time will you
be allowing new sellers to get their accounts set up, get acquainted with
Gegy.com listing procedures and ensure that all pre-launch auctions get
listed properly before launch?

We took a long look at these two questions that we have received via email
from new members, over and over again! We understand the new issues that
Gegy.com presents for sellers and buyers. We want to limit the confusion and
the initial launch chaos for our members, and make it a smooth and
successful transition for each of you..

Here is the revised schedule for pre-listing and launch!

--Pre-listing of auctions will commence on Saturday October 20, 2001. See
detailed information you will need about pre-listing at the bottom of this
email.

--GegyAuction marketplace will launch officially on Saturday October 27,
2001.

--GegyPay will launch Saturday November 3, 2001 - Watch this page for
additional information on activating your GegyPay account and offering it as
a payment option on your website and your other web wide auctions.
http://www.gegy.com/intro/pay.html

--GegyLive will launch Saturday December 1, 2001 - The management decided to
save the LIVE! Launch for last. This allows members to get comfortable in
their new home, get their feet wet with the regular auctions, GegyAuction
and the integrated payment system, GegyPAY before introducing this
revolutionary new live platform. For updates and information about
GegyLive, and upcoming scheduled live feature auctions, stayed tuned to

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SELLERS TO PRE-LIST ON GEGY.COM :

Registered sellers will be able to pre-list auctions from October 20, 2001
through October 27, 2001. To be a registered seller during our pre-list
event, you must place a valid credit card on file with Gegy.com. You will
prompted to add your credit card information when you list your first
item.

FLASH: We have set up an email hotline: From now until October 27, 2001
you can email our tech support team at prelist.com with any questions
you have that pertain to pre-listing auctions, and getting your seller
account set up. This is one of the primary reasons that we have changed the
dates. We want to ensure every seller receives our attention, and ensure a
hassle-free transition to selling at Gegy.com

If you have NEVER sold at an online auction before, and you would like to
give it a try, now is the perfect opportunity! Email us at the hotline email
above and we will assist you with the process, a member of our team will
offer you personalized support and encouragement, and have you selling
online like a seasoned professional in no time!

For those sellers that use html templates for current auction listings...
you will be able to directly cut and paste your html templates directly into
the description box while listing auctions at Gegy. If you are unsure if
your template is compatible, contact us at prelist.com, with a URL to
one of your current auctions or your template on the web, and we will
personally check compatibility for you.

For sellers who do not use html templates... the Gegy.com 'list an item'
page for sellers comes complete with a built-in html builder, that sellers
will find both easy and quick to use. With the Gegy Auction Builder, you can
add color to your fonts and backgrounds, add large font titles, choose from
30+ fonts and multiple colors; as well as add radio boxes or hyperlinks
within your auction listings.

Image Hosting - Gegy.com provides free image hosting to all sellers. You
can upload a maximum of 5 images for each auction that you list. Keep in
mind that the first image that you upload to the Gegy.com server will be
used as your Gallery thumbnail. All auctions are featured in the gallery,
with a thumbnail, free of charge for all auctions. Please note: For sellers
who choose to use their our image hosting solution, you must upload one
image to the Gegy server, for each auction that you list, otherwise you will
not have a gallery thumbnail image.

Well, I guess they will be leaving quite a few folks out of it. They require a CC in order to list.

BE CAREFUL giving out your financial information!

Sorry
But after doing a domain search on gegy I.d rather NOT do business with a INC. called
IntelligentCollector.com
Sounds Like a data collector to me and a lot of unwanted email to follow.

I would've given them a shot if not for the CC requirement. There's no way I'll give them my CC number.

I agree, requiring the credit card from a total stranger/company is a nix nix in my book.

But yet you have probably given out your CC# to various other auction sites, as well as shopping sites, not knowing who exactly sees or handles it. And then lets think about the real CC risk, when you hand you card to that sweet young waitperson, who is despartly trying to make his/her car payment for the month, and your card walks (sight unseen) into another room where one and all can swipe it, copy it, or dump it. GET REAL FOLKS........

Any new site needs bidders. Any word on how gaggy is attracting buyers? All the listings in the world are no use if there are no customers to look at them...

Perhaps they are going to resurrect their bogus phantom million dollar ad campaign again.

Keep your eyes open. Wide open!
