With all of the people upset that other auction sites are charging fees.

I know LowestBids has made and has kept its promise to not charge listing or FVF fees.

They have even redone their entire site.

You know it doesn't bother me that auction sites may charge a Final Value Fee. In fact, I actually prefer paying a FVF because then I know the site is generating some revenue and just might be around six months from now. Of course, then again they may not.

But how does a site that charges absolutely no fees at all stay afloat?

Just how many freaking auction sites are there?

Just when I thought I had heard all the names, someone pulls another one out of the hat.

"Just how many freaking auction sites are there?"

Really good question. I have links to over 100 from my website. Another auction user, Kenzy, has links to a bunch from his site as well. I know we have some of the same but I think he has some I don't have (and maybe vice versa).

I hadn't updated for about three months then got that done yesterday. I think I took out a half-dozen (dead links) and added another half-dozen.

You've run into that too? I've never checked from AW's page but I've found that to be the case on a few other auction list sites.

Funny thing happened with one of our local chamber of commerces. They had a website and they let the domain expire. Next thing they knew it had been registered and turned into a porn site by someone in Russia.

LowestBids-- gotta be the stupidest name for an auction site yet.

Yeah I want my stuff to sell for the *lowest bid* I'm sure

Just don't try to auction any design or graphic services, they'll cancel your auctions and then say you were "competing" with them, apparently they do design work as well.

Yet another loser site IMO.
