The phrase "not even a close second" comes to mind when comparing number #1 eBay to Number #2 Bidbay. Here is a real example of a seven day period of time this month of my total auction activity. Bear in mind, it was strictly part-time. All dollar amounts are for real dollars and not BB bucks.
40 items listed on ebay
33 sold on ebay
194 bids on my auctions on ebay
over $800 in winning bids on ebay
$45 in fees on ebay
I spent $266 on other's ebay auctions
I spent under $10 on Dutchbid
I spent under $10 on epier
I couldn't find anything to bid on on Bidbay.
I know I could have listed all my items for FREE at the number 2 site. But for $45 why not sell items for a higher profit, get more bidders and move the stuff faster? To me this is a business, even if part time. I'm in business to make money.

rrt & denephew,
Thise stats were from top9.com forwarded from pcdataonline not bidbay's. The sites rated are on the amount of unique per month. Also, they are rated 1875 worldwide web site.
They've only been around for one year, not bad.
I would assume that the both of you had some misdealings with the site and would love to do nothing else but downgraded.
Keep in mind that these stats are not their invention, but pcdataonline.
AW is rated one for auction services, Is that not true also???
I feel that Bidbay is here to stay and as o the forum on AW, why not ask them???

I'm confused old knowledgable one. You signed your last post with "jmho" which means "just my honest opinion".
So was your last post fact or just your opinion?
While we are on the topic of honesty, are you affiliated with bb in any way whatsoever? This includes related to any employees or management? How about friends with any employees? Just curious.

They DID have their own forum here at one time. I do beleive the PTB at Bidbay spammed the forum posing as users and AW pulled the forum. That is my understanding~~I could be wrong.
Also, fullofknowledge1, I have NO reason to "downgrade" (as you put it) Bidbay. I was simply offering MY comparison of the two sites. I never questioned as to how, why and if Bidbay is indeed #2. I have used Bidbay and ebay both. Speaking from my OWN experiences regarding my sales and the type of items available that I want to bid on~~I will stand by my statement that to eBay, Bidbay is "not even a close second". I base that upon my OWN experiences, not site traffic/hits/listings rankings that DO NOT reflect actual real cash sales made or listings for the type of items that I am looking for to bid on. But geez, what do I know. I must be selling or bidding on the wrong "type" items. Here I thought making a tidy profit and finding items you liked were reasons for using an auction site. But since I'm not so fullofknowledge, I guess I'll just stick with the making money type approach. Of course, if it would help Bidbay become #1 I DO have lots of old toys and clothes in my kids closets I could list at Bidbay for BB bucks.

Vette~~yes and the current CEO's duaghter was also involved I do believe. Of course Bidbay's CEO can be found posting right here in this forum in all the locked threads~~so maybe AW should just go ahead and give Bidbay a forum here.

coolvette, that was very uncool of you to say that...SO WHAT if he got fired from Bidbay..who are you to go on any public forum and state such a personal issue? This is what I was referring to on another thread as to the Personal Bashing that goes on there...and this is why I will NOT join that site..make one mistake...hell no ones perfect make a few...and you will be bashed to death...very uncool coolvette...JMHO

Coolvette, I really am not concerned with the fact that you do not care, that is obvious to me. But is it ashame that you feel that bashing someone is alright...whoever they maybe everyone has feelings, everyone has a heart..NOT everyone is evil. From what I can see at Bidbay everyone is GUILTY until proven Innocent.

I will agree that they do indeed need their own forum. It would give Bidbayers a place to speak more freely about Bidbay problems or issues. Unfortunatley there seems to be a mob mentality prevalent on the Bidbay boards that prohibits any serious discussion of issues. Most issues that are attempted to be discussed on their boards become personal slam fests. There is nothing wrong with pointing out areas in a site that need improvement. Unfortunatley at Bidbay, there are members who take constructive criticism as some sort of personal attack~~as if Bidbay is a cult, a dear loved one and/or their sole reason for existence. Bidbay was not created by god but by a man. Bidbay is a business. You do not find Meg posting on The Ebay Outlook asking for all the bashing of eBay to stop. She's running a business not a popularity or ego contest. Heck, you yourself offered assistance to a Bidbayer on the Bidbay boards recently on a "tech issue" and were promptly attacked. The reason you were attacked was even worse~~because your friend works for Bidbay and the person asking for tech help did not like what your friend did~~LOL!

We must consider the attacker here. LOL

I am confused. Can someone explain. and how could the PTB spam the boards here? I dont understand. If they are a viable Auction Site shouldn't they have a forum? and coolvette how do you know they paid AW 50K? Do you work for them? Sincere question

Someone correct me if I am wrong. AW's revenue is derived from advertising/promotion. Bidbay paid for advertising ~~banner ads on AW. Advertising is not allowed in the threads on the various forums. The forums at AW are for USERS of sites NOT free promotional tools for site owners/employees. A person could be considered to be spamming a board if he/she does not identify themselves as an owner/employee of a site and posts as a user of a site in a promotional nature. They can also be considered to be spamming if they do post and announce who they are and spam the boards with promotional messages in threads. By doing that they are basically stealing from AW, as AW sells advertisement space. The reason they (Bidbay) no longer have a forum, which they indeed once have at AW, is because of the spam on that forum by Bidbay employees. That is how I understand the situation. For a more precise answer, I would ask the question in the moderator's corner.

Wanted to add that Bidbay also derives it's revenue strictly from advertising/promotion (banner ads, promotional blips in their newsletter, etc). They do not allow promotional spamming of their various forums~~so the Bidbay PTB should understand that concept fully when it applies to them at other business sites.

coolvette, bored poetry??? Had to get that little dig in there didn't you..Some sort of insulting comment...Grow Up...I can see why Bidbay is where it is at with its members..must make you feel like a big man to throw your insults around...only one looking like a fool is yourself...again..GROW UP
Edited because I almost left out what I base my opion on which is coolvette..I see alot of bashing going on at bidbay and I can almost hear the hurt and embarassment that the bidbay community causes others. It is WRONG and that site will not last long if it continues to treat ppl like cattle. That is what I base my opion on. It is what I see happening. So those are Facts as well, not BORED POETRY....

I see we have a new sock puppet among us.
Denephew,
AW also makes revenue off their universal search along with the ad revenue. Some sites pay for it while others do not as per Mark. I'm sure they have other venues of revenue also.
msgodrocks,
At this time I do not work for Bidbay nor have I in the past.
