BidVille now has 200,000 listings and AuctionWatch definitely needs to consider moving this auction site to the "front page".

I am quite impressed with the growth rate at BIDVILLE & trying to do all my bidding there also. Now including a "find me at" note when I send my Ebay wins out. The ease of listing at BIDVILLE makes me happy and I even have a bid on an item! This never happened at yahyah. goooooooOOOOOOOOOOOO, BIDVILLE!!

dimview ...

With your number posting skills, I am wondering if there is any way you could post the number of completed auctions on BidVille that did or did not receive any bids?

It's nice to see that they have over 200,000 listings, but when 199,900 don't get any bids, I can't see the point.

Perhaps a regular listing showing the number of completed auctions with winning bids would be helpful - if these numbers start going up, then more people may be attracted to the site.

Thanks, and keep up the great reporting

RB,

I haven't found any way to search on closed auctions at BidVille, but there's not much bidding going on in the categories that interest me although I've bid on two items thus far.

I do like Bidville for the EASE of listing items alll the way around. And actually had a bid on an item, but not much movement otherwise. Do see lookers though.
I figure this way, it took me for ever to get going on Yahoo to get the bidding going, when I moved from it's only a buck site to Yahoo. So figure if I keep adding links to my bidville I will get buyers over there.
And if they keep to their word that if you sign by March no fees ever, then it's worth a try...
I hope it will pick up, but figure everybodies in limbo over the Yahoo thing and not all buyers are really knowing what's going on.

Bidville now lets you see all the number of hits of each auction. If you click to see all your open auctions, they have a new column that lists the number of hits each one has received. That's pretty neat.

I have been listing at Bidville for about 3 weeks now and have competed 8 sales. All but 2 of these were sold with the Take It Now option. There could be many buyers taking advantage of that option. This could be one reason for the lack of bids showing up on items. I love the site and the improvements they have been making are wonderful. Hopefully the bidding will pick up in time.

I've sold way more on the much smaller epier than on Bidville. Heck - I already have 12 positive feedbacks on epier. I did manage to sell one item on Bidville however, and I do like the ease of listing ... so I wil continue to list there hoping sales will pick up (at least to epier standards).

Frankly I'm not into any of these micro sites yet. I also have reservations that they will be able to stay up with lots of auction listings and no fees? It's one thing to support a thousand auctions, another for one with 200K?

Frankly I would rather pay some fees and have a payment service like Amazon payments or billpoint.

It just takes too much time and resources to list, relist and support a site without bids?

I have had six auctions on bidville for awhile now with very little hits and no bids.

Six auctions. Gee I wonder what the problem is. The average seller had a 3% to 10% sell thru rate on Yahoo when it was free. With 6 auctions listed, selling a couple of items within 2 or 3 weeks would be a huge success and much better than average. You really need to list 10 to 20 items for every one item listed on eBay to generate the same amount of sales. (This is assuming you items are listed at the going rate on eBay).
