in allowing the listing of blatantly obvious bootlegs on their venue (region free DVDs from Hong Kong including materials that have only been released on Region 1 DVD in North America).
Even after being notified on several occasions, the listings remain.
Even after quoting an eBay buyer who got stung on the exact same bootleg set of DVDs (they're not even the complete DVD's!!), the listings remain.
As a matter of fact, they have been *relisted" for another 6 days!!

Hi dman3 ...
Yeah, you're right ... not much listed there in DVD's. But, one of those 2 (now) happens to be a set of bootleg DVDs from Hong Kong. If Carnaby doesn't want to deal with this (I mean, how hard can it be to figure out that these are 100% illegal), I can't see much future in their DVD listings. I know I won't list there ... can't compete with the bootleggers.
DVD fans like me are looking for the real thing ... not some Asian junk that is missing parts and could end up getting seized by the MPAA.

If Carnaby doesn't attract more buyers/sellers it will not matter what illegal items it has listed as no one visits that site anyway. It needs to come up with a new way to attract traffic to it's site.
I think sellyouritem is the only site that does not count auctions in each category, but rather goes by the auction listing number itself in reporting how many listings are on the site.
It appears it is fairly accurate. If you add up the category numbers, it is greater than the # of auctions reported in their stats.

toollady ... that seems like a better way to represent how many different items are actually listed. It's too bad the other venues don't do the same so we could do a proper comparison.
Then again, a venue who is hoping for a big number to justify charging fees may not want to report their stats like this.
