I was reading so many posts about people feeling like their eBay sales were way down and growing need for an additional need for another venue.

I think I read an article last weds 10/2/02 in the Wall Street Journal about something going on at AOL?

Has anyone else heard about that?

Go to the Google search engine and enter "AOL Auctions" and press the new "News" search button. All news articles are in chronological order, newest to oldest.

Lets hope AOL gives ebay some stiff competition. Chip away at that monopoly!

i found a place that makes ebay look like a joke...actually making sales,no listing fees, software to stop scammers, great support,no waiting all buy now or offers, you may link to websites as long as you link back, import feedback, want ads link to your listings is working cannot believe it is so fun like ebay was years ago! great people at chat too scoop shop...
check it out..a real surprise...steady sales
www.ioffer.com (used to be e-wanted,lots of traffic)
yes, anything that chips at the monopoly is good for us..good luck wherever you sell

I must disagree with timetravelers. I joined ioffer in early summer and listed every item in my stable at the time and still have not even had an offer let alone a sale. And after checking the site views, it is no wonder why. It is hardly seen.
On the other hand, it is too bad as the layout is quite good and easy to use.
But lets not tell a tale of lies and state the sales are great, even better than ebay when it is not true. It would be better to state that this is a great site to list items with a good layout and easy to list at. And everyday, more people visit the site searching for quality items. I hope this does happen, but so far it simply hasn't happened.

Hello i have posted here for years only when i need help or think i could have some info to help someone else.
I am sorry if i offended you,i have seen people get excited about a site & cheerlead not taking time over a month, listing over 50 items & guaging sales..I have tested it with very good results.
what i meant was i & others are getting steady sales using the want ad system, this is not a lie.I feel terrible you would think this of me.I promote my items, ioffer has us in the search engines & are coming out with many innovative sales techniques not seen on the net New stores coming any day.
It has grown since you were there, they only have been ioffer a few month but have a base of the old e-wanted members. Many new people coming, lots of great sellers coming over.I personally have steadily sold items at much better prices than expected..
It is fun there, great support & why i feel it is better than ebay? the people there including the owners have my respect, they have integrity as do I.I asked for a help board it was there the next day,for counters to guage hits it was there in a few days..these guys are SUPER...

I am through with the CESSPOOL OF SHILLERS,SCAMMERS OF EBAY & THEIR MORALLY BANKRUPT COMPANY..
good luck whereever you sell i was just trying to help someone that maybe did not know of a decent site that is free to list.
ps i see many crying their ebay sales are down due to the economy etc...it is not just the economy i go there my computer freezes, many pages blank..& it is not just me..
Please CHECK THE TECH BOARD for the facts

If ioffer were such a goldmine to the majority of sellers it would be immensely popular with many more sellers than they currently have on site. Some sellers may have incredible success at certain sites where the majority of sellers do poorly but that only makes them the exception to the rule and not the average.

Wow,
Chill out. I wasn't blasting you. Just bringing to light that there aren't any real sales there. I also stated that it was too bad because I do like the layout. And FYI, since it is free and you can list for 60 days and not have to baby sit your items, I do still have them listed there. Heck, I know that any exposure, even as little as it is at ioffer, is better than not having it listed at all. That still don't change the fact that the page views are not there let alone bidders. Maybe some day, they will come. I hope they do, but for now it is just a warehouse site.

I'm cool sorry to blast u too LOL
hey stop by chat there is you have time Ok?

i swear those want ad dealys work but you gotta list right off the ad,for them to email the person the url..if all ready listed just use the details question thingy & send em the item # it works..i combine so i am getting mostly multiple sales too..
stores opening any day now..
good luck
