There are no "Prayers needed for my auctions" threads or "vibrator" threads here though.

Are bids that hard to come by on Bidville?

We all need something to blast and since I don't like to lie, all I have to do is tell the truth about Bidville and it is like venting.

I was only kidding about my BV Prayers needed for my auctions post here on 11/9 but it looks to be a phophetic post as well after looking at the BV Cafe today.

Reminds me of Huck Finn's opinion on religion: he went into the woods & prayed & prayed for a fishing line -- when he didn't rteceive it, he decided religion was bogus

That featured seller is now boasting of three new bids as the result of being featured. So maybe the praying worked?

With all the turmoil over at the bidville boards some serious praying is needed for those poor sellers paying money for a 1% sell-thru rate.......if their lucky!

and a large percentage of deadbeats on that 1% rate.

Hi auctiongroup2002,

There are a few people here (everyone who has posted to this thread so far) who enjoy sitting around chewing the cud about BV, then spitting it all over the floor. No BV Seller wants anything to do with AW because no matter the subject posted, it's turned it into a thread similar to this one. They are a sad, lonely group of people with nothing better to do with their time.

Be easy on her tooltimes lol. Have you been watching the action over at bidville? No sales, advertising, deadbeats, absent management, and some poor seller paid overdraw fees because bidville never told their sellers about the membership fee hike. What a sad site it is.........

Yet another reason to get rid of the message boards over there. The social aspect of the BV boards was once much more important than it is now. There are only a handful of perhaps 30 to 50 regular posters whereas that number was once much greater. I believe that BV management could successfully phase out the message boards now.

And with people like radarlove, they might as well just close the whole site. Yahoo doesn't do Canada. Thank God.

Another reason I hope yahoo doesnt bring back the free listings. Not only would you get the junk back, but the troublemakers on the message boards. Let them stay at bidville!

If there was a $1 minimum start price that would eliminate 80% of the items on BV from coming to Yahoo.
I think one of the main problems that many BV sellers are having these days is that they sell $1 items and the new postal rates are too high. A bidder wins a dollar item then gets a contratulations letter from the seller with a $4-$6 postal cost and the bidder deadbeats instead of paying. Can't blame the bidder that much when the shipping isn't part of the auction description.

tooltimes we must remember the book section on bidville is one seller. Yahoo could put a "cap" on the amount of items allowed to be listed. The 175,000 non sports items would not be a problem, but the 650,000 sports cards would be a problem. The sport card section at yahoo is successful now I know that for sure, but the effects of thousand after thousands of common cards would flood the categories, driving current sellers away. Its a tough call.

What I see as a problem with a no listing fee one dollar minimum is the crap sellers would list their items and put in the description that the real cost is 10 cents and would take that plus FVF fees in most cases 1 - 2 cents which would the loop hole crap sellers look for. Keep the listing fees as they are and the low FVF's which are more than fair.

There's a new BV discussion on a BV motto. Here's my contributions

Bidville - where sellers come to retire

Bidville - quality warehousing of low value auction items

Bidville - Home of Dr. Ed's abandoned auction site

Bidville - NoBidding.com and we mean it!

Bidville - Old Biddies in a vile

Jump right in with other constructive mottos.

Yahoo could put a "cap" on the amount of items allowed to be listed

They could also put a cap on that slimy, green chunk spewing hole that stinks up their venue. They would only need to keep it capped long enough to let the pressure build up to a point where the whole thing would explode.

Just hope they point it south ...

Are you referring to Blairwitch here RB? I think it would fit the description.

RE: Jump right in with other constructive mottos.

How about "Bidville, some people have been claiming it's sinking since before the titanic went down"

According to some of you people, Bidville has died more times than Social Security.

Years ago, there was a young man walking around center city with a sign that read, "THE END IS NEAR"

Now an old man sits on the corner with the same sign, actually, it's the same guy.

You folks remind of that guy, I never could figure out how he had time to do anything to support himself, either.

What's the matter Hap? You too cheap to give Bryan $5 so you can post over there. You're the typical BV seller ... a cheapstake.

Cant blame him tooltimes. Yahoo is having a showcase with a 50% STR, while bidville cant muster a weak 2%.

Bidville is like the titanic in a wierd way. Instead of water sinking this ship its nickel and dime sports cards. The management reminds me of the ships crew as well. Was warned about the iceberg, but dident listen until it was too late.

If every seller was as good as HAP, there wouldn't be anything to talk about on any auction forum anywhere.

Hi Kodi !!! I still check in every now and again, but have not decided to start selling again, yet.

TOOL, I believe you meant to say "cheapsKaTe", either way, it's a cheapshot.

Cheapskate or cheapstate, whatever. Cheapshot? Not when it's for a worldclass hypocrite. One of BV's biggest supporters and defenders that won't spring $5 to banter with his friends on the BV boards.
