http://www.auctioncounter.com/help.html#listing%20Fees

What were they thinking when the folks at auctioncounter.com came up with their fee schedules? An unknown site with almost no listings and a hefty listing fee?

Single Item Auction 15 days 30 days 45 days
---- Insertion Fees $1.10 -- $1.50 -- $1.75

Dutch Auctions 15 days 30 days 45 days
Insertion Fees $3.20 $3.70 $4.10

Do you think they researched the online auction scene at all? What a tremendous waste of time and money to start an auction site with hefty listing fees.

Hello Tooltimes and Lane Family,

I've just read your post and think an incomplete depiction of our fee structure at the site. while your post is technically correct Tooltimes, upon a bit further investigation you'd really see what AuctionCounter fees really are, log in and go here:
http://www.auctioncounter.com/auctionlisting.asp

below is a direct quote of what one of our new sellers had to say about us at mootropolis " Have you Tried AuctionCounter.com and their free offer...? I have and i have to say it's a good deal. I used The free promotion code they gave me free pictures, bold listings and highlighted listings ( i haven't used yet) and they ended up posting all of my auctions on their homepage even though that wasn't included. customer service is responsive too for now. By the end of this week i'm hoping to spend all the free listing credits they gave me and see if i get any sales. No FVF, i have nothing to lose but a couple minutes this deal gave me everything free to try them out. Unless you're a member you're not able to see the promo packages but it turns out for every say $1 you spend they give you back twice that amount in enhancing features so when you do the math it turns out you're only spending something like 12-13 cents per listing. check them out. i'll keep you posted.

Lanefamily, Our marketing department has contacted you about the unintentional spam and attempted an apology by offering you 25 free auctions with free enhancing features, i hope you would respond and take advantage of the offer. Actually if you respond i'll personally give a much more valuable promo code that will give you a promo code worth over $200.00. use it to post 100 1,3,5,7,10 or 15 day auctions, 1 free homepage listing, 1 free category featured listing, 4 free bold listings, 10 free highlighted listings, ALL FREE.

Register and list soon, as of dec 15,'02 ALL of our listings will automatically be submitted at Dealtime.com every time a seller post for the duration of the listing.
We're also working with Inktomi (search engine) to submit ALL of our listings via a feed. We're expecting great things to happen at AuctionCounter for all, this is why we did not build a free site.

Best Regards,
Price

You had me going for a minute. I was looking all over for that e-mail from you.

Then it dawned on me that you had no idea who I was and figured out it was the last spam you sent me with the offer in it.

I have a better idea. Give a promotional code that will give me free listings till I sell say $1,000 on your site.

I know people hate to hear the word eBay but that amount of sales takes me oh in a bad month 1 week. In a good one a weekend maybe a long weekend.

Actaully never mind cause if I ever did make that many sales on your site I could not pay the normal listing fees posted above to list anything else.

the promotion codes are available every day of the year. This feature is a permanent seller tool on our site. The above fees would apply to someone selling say one item or so a month. This type of seller would not need the codes. For regular sellers it makes more sense to use the codes because your listing fees will be reduced dramatically due to the free enhancement features we give away with each code for example:

Free Homepage features
Free Gallery Features
Free Category Features
Free Bold Features
Free Highlighted Features
Free picture Features

I don't doubt you can pull this type of volume and more at ebay, but if you can make $1,000 with spending 12 cents at AuctionCounter, you could never do that at Ebay.

Customers first. Connect. Have Fun.

Best Regards,
Price
