Wow. The sports related stuff at 77.5% really makes BV a sports niche. A big reason for all of those low profit items is that ebay allows the 600 day auction duration with 20 relists at 30 days each.
I think the BV search engine will work much better with the book storefront guy gone. Maybe BV tried to charge him a $1 a month and he said it wasn't worth it. It seems like one year since he appeared on the BV scene ( unannounced ) so maybe he had a one year sweetheart deal where it was free. Sometimes I really think stavescards is the only intelligent poster at BV. Not only do the BV cheerleaders hate any form of site dissenters but even any Devil's Advocates that question BV's moves in an effort to improve the site.

Tooltimes I would say the reason he left was bidville wanted more money to warehouse the items. The 77.5% sports items figure isnt correct. Dimview discovered there are sports items in many other non-sport categories. I would say the site is 80% sports items. At this point it does look like bidville is basically a sport niche site. I also enjoy reading stavescards posts.
If I were operating bidville the site would become a sports site only. Use the membership fees to advertise in sport magazines. If they play the cards right the site could become something.

They could go that route or they could try to shed some of the 1 cent to 10 cents sportscards by reducing the number of relists from the current 20 relists to perhaps either 5 or 10 relists. That would still yield 150 days or 300 days auction runs without any form of maintenance except for the $5 fee every six months. This would get rid of at least some of the very low value items on BV.
BV ( AuxPal ) started operations of 12/06/2000 so their second anniversary is only 16 days away now.
