1 million average pageviews monthly at AuctionCounter According to Alexa.com

It's Easy to see the net is finding AuctionCounter. which is great news.

See for yourself, click here:

http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?q=&p=Det_W_g_40_M1&url=www.auctioncounter.com

we still need sellers to list at our site. the traffic potential is there. we just need your inventory. Try us out, list ten items and see how it goes. No pressure.

Our internal system show we currently host 361 Auctions and 73 bids. AuctionCounter needs your inventory to turn this traffic into shoppers. You owe it to your busness to try us out.

NOTE : Alexa.com is just one browser tracking our traffic, we get much more page views than that monthly.

Does that mean Yahoo only had 1 page view in the same time period?

Tomwiii, the red arrows indicate traffic has been coming down obviously. This is why i'm posting here, i'm still looking for sellers who could use more exposure for their merchandise. the only way for us to keep these arrows green, is to give our shoppers and visitors what they are looking for, your merchandise. What could you do with more than 3 million pageviews for your merchandise per month?

toollady, Alexa.com is a browser just like netscape and IE, Amazon owns this browser and every time someone using their browser visits any site, they track it. It's possible in that time period, only one user accessed yahoo using that browser. i hope this clarifies it for you.

You're kidding right?

Alexa is NOT a browser, it's spyware and it watches everywhere you visit on the net and then it phones home to report.

Either you have a problem with your homepage counter (which says 40,000+/- visitors since 11/23/02) or you're reporting inaccurate information.

With 361 auctions running, I highly doubt the counter is broken.

I hope that clarifies things for YOU.

I'm not sure where you're getting the information from Alexa that your Site is receiving over 3 million page views/month. That lower chart is a page views rank. AuctionCounter ranks 2,919,310 over the past 3 months with users browsing with the Alexa toolbar in place.

AuctionWatch ranks 940 overall and their page views rank is 1,318 over the past 3 months. http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?q=&p=Det_W_t_40_L1&url=auctionwatch.com

The lower the number - the better.

Toollady,
Vidpro2 said it right, according to what i understand alexa to be, a " toolbar". A user can download it and use it in conjunction with their browser if it's supported. The site clearly states it undercounts the aol browser citing compatibility issues. Furthermore, it's common knowledge that html counters that do not reside on your root directory will not provide accurate traffic counts. I have answered this question for you months ago when you first asked, i'm not sure why it's still an issue. We place the counter there to show new visitors that the site is live and usable.

you said "With 361 auctions running, I highly doubt the counter is broken. ", ?? i'm not sure what you mean by this.

AuctionCounter Management is doing a great deal of work towards promoting the site, we've already begun to see the results with our partnership with Inktomi, just go to Msn.com, inktomi's search partner and do a search for "Quickcam web cam ", you'll see our listing is listed in the # 4 position, this item is only a few days old and it has already received 3 bids. Could that have been your tools in this #4 position? quite possibly!

Vidpro2, you are certainly right " the lower the number, the better. " my post was not to show 3 million, my title said 1 million pageviews monthly. It's possible my title was biased and commercial, but you cannot deny that we do get a good amount of traffic for a new site even if not 3 million. It was an honest mistake. Thank you for clarifying the tables for me.

Hello Price,

Yes, you did address the counter issue in this thread:

http://www.auctionwatch.com/mesg/read.html?num=33&thread=27441

You stated on on November 29th the following:
__________________________________________
Since May '02, We've Received 456,945 Unique Visitors and 3,767,621 page views, Tracked by Live Metrics, a site reporting tool we use. I'm sorry i cannot offer live evidence that truly reflects our membership. Our Exact Numbers from May '02 - now : 100,115 Registered Sellers, 200,052 Registered Buyers. Just take a look at our registration page to see how easily we figure out Who is Who at our site.
___________________________________________

Now you want us to believe you've received an average of one million hits a month since then.

If that is the case, then why don't you have more than 361 listings? Logic would dictate with that amount of hits, you would be getting much more action to your site.

And yes, vidpro2 IS correct, you aren't.

The one million number you are quoting means your website RANKED one million out of all the websites Alexa tracks for site visits.

If your site was getting the hits you claim Alexa is reporting, your tracking data chart wouldn't be showing up as Insufficient Data. Instead, it would have some type of graph activity. It doesn't because your site doesn't even rank in the top 100,000 sites visited by Alexa users.

If you want auction users to show interest in auctioncounter, you're going to have to present true numbers, not fabricate them.
