I received one this evening. We talked for over half an hour - and the whole conversation was based around what I thought could be done to improve the site.

Now how is that for customer support? I was very impressed.

Kudos to iOffer for keeping the 'little guy' in mind and in always looking for ways to improve the site.

Thanks for sharing this!

Yes,they care they rock they just hit 150,000 listings!! 1 year old July 1st in this economy to have steady growth is awesome.
The best thing is as they grow the customer service stays the same the best on the net!

I hope they catch up with yahoo by xmas. No site has done this well.
Their brilliant linking feature using members recommending each other has gotten me almost 2,000 listings in google starting on PAGE 1 takes a little time, you need to put keywords in your store & profile.
If you don't care enough to promo your own biz & at least use the state of the art tools they have provided you will not do as well there.
Not an auction, new people need to read the site map, tours,& FAQ..neat way to sell.

Another thread it was mentioned some site should do millions in advertising..well there was a site,40 million in 2 years ..it was bought by the employees when it went down..
THAT SITE IS NOW IOFFER, using the search engines they will make it i feel it.
They are also reopening ewanted for sales leads for ioffer..very innovative thinkers.

There are many free tools for sellers at ioffer right now, want ads, buyer alerts, snag a sale you just need to do a little work.
I have had good sales there and the site is very clean as no shillers no bidding all buy now & make offers..
good luck ps look at this & other boards around the net..most all the threads are about ioffer that tells you something. Many ebay powersellers moving there daily!

Has anyone noticed how slow the site has been today loading or searching? They must be tweaking the site. Normally it's fairly stable. I'm glad they got rid of those 100+ Masonic poster auctions that were almost all the same item. What a hog that seller was to flood the category with his posters.

AA, I think they will have more of that as times passes. You must control the "junk" before it becomes a problem. Has the recipe and spam auctions been a problem yet? I should check the site out today.

A seller has to sign up with a credit card and if you put up a junk auction and someone won it the seller would be billed 50 cents per transaction to your card. That should keep out the junk. The problems at ioffer is the search engine is a little flaky and also when you find something with the search engine it is often the same item posted several times by one seller.( illegal )
Overall it is easy to relist items, Mr. Grabber works fine, and you can select a price is not negotiable box on the edit function to keep the " I'll give you a dollar for your $5 item " crowd.

RICKY mentioned they were updating mrgrabber that may be it
yes that .50 has really done the job keeping the 1.00 or .10 listings off ioffer.

One tip though if you are a seller of low priced items you can mention in your listings to go to your store for multiple purchases,,you only pay ONE FVF no matter how many items sold if the store is used..
some say there in their descriptions on low price items, min 9.99 or whatever purchase & you must use the store..
ex

1 widget 2.00= .50 fvf
1 whatnot 2.00=..50 fvf
1 whatamacallit .99=.50 fvf
if bought in regular listings total fvf 1.50

but if they buy thru store it is on total
4.99 total for 3 items = fvf.50
seller saves 1.00 in fees

Note don't price your items at 5.00 use 4.99 the fees jump at 5.00

Glad they have CS that cares about the seller, so why don't they promote their site more? Put some money behind the site. Let the world know? They can't depend on us to drive business.

I looked over the site today, and there must be very little selling going on. For all it costs to sell on yahoo I will stay there. Seales would be better on bidville than ioffer.

It would be tough to calculate a selling rate there. One way to tell is by the sellers staying there and the slow but steady increase in listed material.

Nobody has money for advertizing and it's foolish to wish upon a star for it.

I'm afraid the site is on the way of becoming another 3rd tier warehouse site. I saw many used items priced at near retail. If there is a site out there that can compete with ebay this isnt it.

Any site that starts up is going to get the early defectors from ebay. Who are probably the worst sellers on ebay. One of the most important things to consider is how to price your items. Some sellers seem to forget how easy it is for a buyer to check a price. Some of these people should go back to whatever they did before and it certainly wasn't selling.

The problem is the no listing fee. Used common vhs movies for $8.99-$14.95? Heck you can join a video club and buy them new cheaper lol. These sites are fine for a hobby seller, but for a seller who depends on the market eBay and yahoo are the only options for me.

Deep Thoughts ... by Ace di Auctions ( Italianized )

All of the non-ebay sites have the same thing about warehousing overpriced goods. The one advantage they have over ebay is that very warehousing ability. The advantage should grow when Half loses most of it's listings in a year or so.
Buyer A wants low value book x but can't find it on ebay because the 30 cents per week listing fees eat the sellers alive. Where can the buyer find the friggin' book? Not on eBay ( or Half when it's gone ). Many buyers shun credit card use on the web so Amazon may be out or the abe.com type setups.

The loss of Half and the possible success of Froogle are the Great White Hopes for the small sites.
