They've added a search box at the top of the home page. Only problem is that any search will yield this message:
**********************
Get Ready to Sell
Before you can sell on Bidville, you are required Verify your membership. Verified Members enjoy no listing fees and no final value fees on all Bidville auctions. If you have questions about the verification process, Click Here.
Get Verified Now.

The regular search function does the same thing. Those tries were as a registered but unverified BV user. You must be registered to use the search function and apparently registered AND verified now. What a plus that is! Now only $10 per year members can search BV? How does that benefit and not hurt BV? Example: A non-BV auction buyer decides to search BV for a rare or unusual item that they collect. Maybe there's one/some on BV that I could buy?!? I'll go look! Wait, I have to pay either $2.50 for one month or $5 for 6 months just to search for the possibilty the item is there!
Another 'Ed' programming hack job?

Maybe it's to stop trouble makers from reporting pirated DVD's and such on other boards? Maybe it is a programming accident or it is intentional to future close off the BV Community to outsiders? Maybe the BV management wants to get both more registered users and verified users? Incredible!

They've fixed it now to let anyone search the site.

I hardly call a search box an improvement lol. When I read about the search "glitch" the first thing that came to my mind was the very low bidrate. Nothing will turn a new seller away like seeing page after page of items with no bids. I am shocked they still have the listing stats on the front page.

I noticed that the search box is now on every page at BV. That is a very smart move. I am totally amazed that Yahoo Auctions makes it very difficult to find their auction search engine. I have only found it on the Auctions Home page. It's a non-brainer to put it on almost every page and most auctions do that except Yahoo Auctions.
