Besides the Antique Roadshow are there any sites online that will give you the appraisal (estimate value) for a collection?

Depending on the antique, an online appraisal can not judge weather or not it’s a reproduction or a true original. Sometimes the value can differ by thousands of dollars. Bidders on Ebay don’t know either so it’s not what the high dollar amount a similar items goes for. If you feel you have an original piece. Take it to a professional appraiser.

Someonce once posted on the ebay outlook board that they paid for an online appraisal and it was totally worthless info, generalized like the daily newspaper horoscope and full of CYA ( Cover Your Arse ) phrases like " without actually seeing the item ". It was a fair amount of money wasted. What a racket.
