The SYI99 monthly event with lots of stuff starting at 99 cents is on and ends next Saturday Dec 3!
Special UGLY contest is also on! Search "SYI99 UGLY" No lie--I had a great laugh--because there are really some truly tacky and awful looking auction items out there! Even worse is about 1/3 already have bids!

The problem with most of those SYI99 items is, that’s all they are worth and by the time you tack on shipping they don’t look so inviting anymore.

I've found that true with most online auction items in general, including ebay. You'll see a great item at $4.50 but when you add the $4 s/h it's now a $8.50 item. That s/h ( and insurance ) factor makes most lower priced online auction items far less desirable than they first appear.
On a different topic
I wish ebay would come out with a minimum start bid of $5 . Most one cent sellers are using fee avoidance by overcharging on s/h and the honest sellers are subsidizing them. With a minimum $5 start price ebay is guaranteed at least a 25 or 26 cents FVF on every sale. There is a lot of crap and sign post auctions on ebay and the $5 minimum would get rid of a lot of it. The sellers of low priced items can either create lots of the cheap stuff for ebay or move the cheap stuff to smaller sites.
That's sure to rile some sellers but no one reads this board anyway.

Of all people to suggest a minimum starting price of $5 is doofus, the king of the garbage 1 cent sports cards and year book auctions. What a hypocrite. That must be so he can have some company over at bidville and ioffer. Worthless crap for the worthless crowd.
