I'm just curious as to why BidBay deletes the posts that are anti-BidBay. I can understand why they would delete posts that are derogatory towards someone, but why posts that poke at the site in general? And I'm looking for honest answers here. I'm really curious because it just doesn't smell right.

iluauctions,
The honest answer is because it's a like China over there. The chat room over there is ran like a communist country. If unfavorable comments are made about the site, then it gets zapped, and that member is suspended. It's a direct correlation to China...if a person speaks out against the Government, then he or she will wind up in jail.
I know for a fact that users can say what ever they want about eBay in their chatrooms as long as they do not swear or put down another member. This is the way it's suppose to be handled.
I hate to say it, but bidbay can learn a lot about chat guidelines from eBay and AW. I think the Moderators here do a very consistent job. Kudos to them.

I agree with the comments re: eBay. I've read some of those boards, and it gets NASTY! But, eBay is able to take the heat.

After reading the boards over at Bidbay tonight I have come to my own opinion of course...the CEO just doesn't give a flying flip as what he has done..He is bidding his members (the ones who say are leaving because of the template issue) farewell...Not caring to give an explanation to any of them..To me,and again this is just my own opinion, he does not care what ppl think..How can a Man do such a thing to his members the ones who help him build bidbay..maybe haven't been there that long but hey he did get the numbers off of them right..and isn't that what it is all about over there..SHAME ON YOU MR. CEO!!!!!

Yep OneDay and now one member is attacking ballsandstrikes for bowing out gracefully questioning his loyalty.
I find it sad that they feel the need to attack anyone over there.

But if he doesn't care what others think, why does he (and other staff of BidBay) delete posts? Doesn't work both ways.

AG2, I truely feel bad for BallsandStrikes, as I know he wanted to sell there. It is a shame that anyone attacks anyone over there...I see it way to much..Like I said before in my posts here I know how it feels..it hurts, it is embarrassing to say the least..My Heart goes out to BallsandStrikes as I know he is truely looking for the right auction site to conduct his business..

iluvauctions.
The point is that GT just does what he pleases...and could care less how it affects anyone.
He's not willing to make a concession about the AW template thing...but he's not willing for anyone to publish that fact either.
AG2
And OneDay...I know the feeling extremely well. I too was looking for a good home for my auctions....I found it at eBay...LOL

iluvauctions, I can not answer that question for you...expect to say that the CEO has shown his true colors in all of this...It is pathetic the way he acts if you are against him and his site...or do not agree with his ethics...

Maybe the prize is the so called I.P.O. It could just be take the money and run. Remember, they are trying to sell 600,000 shares of their own stock for a $6 million personal gain. Besides if they lose a few members, all they have to do is add to the numbers on the home page. It is the investors that they are playing to anyway.

My biggest concern is why the CEO doesn't defend his company by explaining his actions. Some will say that he doesn't have to, which is his right, and I respect that. But at the same time, while he chooses to remain silent, others post messages that, while possibly true, are damaging to his company.
It's kind of funny. He chooses to remain silent to his attackers, yet says that he (and BidBay) will show them, with them being everyone else (AW, for one?). If he's going to show everyone, then why doesn't he step forward and be honest about everything?

I luv auctions. If you read your post you will realize that what you posted answered your own question. It is now obvious, even to some loyal B.B users that they are backing the wrong horse.

Heres is a question for 100000000 Bid Bay Bucks. What does telling the truth, asking for answers to important questions or disrupting the BidBay chatboards have in common....
All of the above will get you BANNED!!

Your comments are very, very close to the line. The comment "please notice the word US makes no difference to the interpretation of your post.
Well as you see some of US chance id here & there like i change my underware
Since you've chosen to include youself in that statement, am I correct in assuming you have admitted to posting under multiple IDs at AuctionWatch.com? Your immediate clarification is required.
The Moderators have posted several reminders over the last few days to address the topic of discussion and not the individual Users. It's a basic requirement of the AW Community Guidelines. If you have a problem abiding by those guidelines, then I suggest you find somewhere else to post.

Mr F
I respectfully disagree. I will bet that if anyone posts the question about how many true users and auctions there are on that site, that no BidBay employee will answer it. In fact the question would soon be banned. I think the point here is that people are tired of users answering questions that the owners should answer. The longer they avoid the issues, the worse it will make them look. Even some loyal users are finding it harder to defend their actions.
