Good idea Auctiongaurd. I like that you have started all of these posts. I might as well be the first one on this on. I think the new 321Gone layout is great. The site is easy to use, and offers many more features than anyone else. I have not tried the bulk uploader yet. The layout of the member homepage is nice and very informative. I will need to see some buyers coming there soon, which I hope, because I would rather do all of my business here than those other places. I will wait and see some other comments and then form another post.

Hi all... okay where do I start.
I'll do it this way... been online since 1985
and since Oct. 1995 I have been to over 500
public online auction sites.
From a point of basically just starting out..
321Gone outshines each and every one of them, bar none! from day one. Now, in saying that it leaves the sellers and bidders, of which there should be an ample amount of in the next few weeks.
The site is a bulls eye public online auction and is not a Gimmick and freebe come and get me unprofessional type of site. It will not aloow spam listings and make money fast garbage auctions. It is for the user who acts like a user and not a kid running around in a toy store.. posting Hey
WOW L@@K RARE.. that plague's so many auction sites. You name it the site has it.. and before you run your mouth off with barely no knowledge about it.. you have to read and look around, it is not your common online auction site.. it has real substance.
I rate the site an 8 right now on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest.. as a comparison. I rate ebay a 9 and yahoo an 8
and all others at 6 or below.
I talk from down and dirty many years hands on auction experience.
Good luck to you all.. play fair and Honest
always and auction fair and Honest always.

I'll tell each and everyone of you this..
if you were running around just to look for an auction site, any auction site because it has no listing fees.. bad move. If any of you took the time to read over on 321gone.com you would of seen that if you agree to the terms.. you can become a super seller and pay no listing fees!!
I have found a home, and got 8 new bids tonight all you have to do is go and look.. same id.
Well, thats it for me on this rating thing.
You've been told, rest is up to you.

spammer??
who are you talking to twelvepole?
anyways, i have been on the site since the beginning and i have to say, the new version is just what they needed. it offers every aspect of auctioning online for buyers and sellers. common problem of up and coming site - lacking in buyers, however it is picking up.
twelvepole, you shouldn't knock something until you try it.

twelvepole... I said that my ID is the same there as here.. how dare you say Spammer!!
You do not start trouble with the wrong person.. person=id If you looked you would see 10 sales plus 11 current auctions with bids. all in last 2 weeks.
I resent your Comment.. to the Highest Degree.
It is people like you that lower the standards here.
Truth is truth and not lies like you have said.

Hello Michelle... I honestly do not think so as it appears he is a wise guy.
He didnt say SPAM he said SPAMMER.. which he was sneakedly referring to me.
I still resent it and do not like it one bit.
Tighten up the ship here please and do not let users mouth off wrongly.

Well I guess my auctions-sales are invisible to you ??
18 Sales in last 20 days, and presently have 11 auctions with bids.
If you are going to just glance, then stay home. If you know what you are doing and you know how to analize and thoroughly look over a site.. it is clearly an 8 now.
If you want to spit out your poison and speak without really knowing, thats your selfishness.

Who are YOU now talking to FBNeNotes?
If you're addressing me then say so, but then you were trying to be insulting weren't you and we both know that is not true, especially over some SPAMMER site like 321 gone.

I just took another look at 321gone, I hadn't been there in awhile. I really like what I see, I think I'm going to give em a shot.

I've listed an auction on 321Gone identical to the more recent auctions I've had on eBay. The listing fee is much cheaper than eBay's but I never felt that eBay's fees were onerous. I'll see how it compares where it counts (bids).
In terms of the layout of 321 and the information it provides I am impressed. Page views are an integral part of the info (and I don't have to view the listing to get the info, thereby skewing the count).
As a buyer I generally rate auction sites by doing searchs for items that I'm interested in. 321 produced no hits on items dealing with cryptology or tinsmithing tools.
This is the eternal bugaboo of all nascent online auction sites. Without enough listings bidders tend to forget about the site or don't persist in searching the site until something of interest does show up.
Hopefully 321 will manage to get over this hurdle through its referral program, the low listing fees and the automatic re-list capability.
It wouldn't hurt 321, in my opinion, to provide some additional incentives for folks to list and even better incentives for folks to bid.

I have never really looked at it before now. It looks pretty good but" How does 321gone compare to Yahoo auctions? Their fees etc?
posted on February 20, 2001 03:49:51 AM newI rate them as LOWLIFE LOSERS!
Me too. They have also spammed me. I did look at the site and it appears it is a nesting ground for some of the now gone Gold's auction pioneers.
And because I had a not so positive transaction with one of the sellers there, one who is speaking the loudest on this thread, I would never use this site!
FBNeNotes, don't you have another posting ID here at AW? I believe it's FBNG? Just curious. ~Vette~

Wabmester,
That is halarious! But you are right. People have been accustomed to getting their services on the Internet for free. I've said this before, I think that on a particular date ALL of the online auction sites should begin starting fees INCLUDING basic listing fees. If all of them did this it would clean up the industry from the littered three cent garbage and turn the industry into a respectable e-commerce marketplace.
It would also weed out the less adaquate sites and provide a revenue stream for those that survive that would allow for branding, advertising, and upkeep.
Sure it would also make a lot of sellers abandon the auction industry for good, but if I were a business I would rather have 1000 paying customers over 10,000 non-paying ones.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Sounds a little too much like eBay talking to me, with the e-commerce marketplace idea.

I have been watching this thread since day one, and I cannot hold back any longer on making a post. 321Gone has been around since 1998 and we have built our business ethically through viral marketing, established partnerships, and direct marketing campaigns.
For those of you who claim we are spamming, you are wrong. We have contracted with a well-respected direct email advertising company that allows us access to a large opted-in database that we use on a monthly basis.
We have also implemented a member referral program with the launch of our new site. This feature allows members to generate 321Gone credit for referring friends, family, and PAST and PRESENT business contacts to the 321Gone web site.
You may have received an email from 321Gone from any of those scenarios. Please stop the blatant false accusations. I don’t want the 321Gone forum here at AW to resemble all of the chaos that I see happening in some of the other forums.
Thank you,
Ryan

Then STOP sending SPAM!
I have never visited or registered to 321GONE and therefore your UNSOLICITED email is SPAM, better try again. Not very professional and has caused me to not to use that site.

321Gone Won. I started maybe 3 weeks ago posting a few auctions to BidVille A week later I posted a few to ePier and finally this weekend I put some on 321Gone. The only bid I have had was from 321Gone this morning. and I still have 5 days to get another one on the rest of the items.
I really did not expect any anywhere and was happy to see this.
I do not know what it was like before but I kind of like what I see now. I am a new user there based on seeing the name here on AW.

321Gone (the company), you are a BOLD FACED LIAR! if you say you are not SPAMMING!
I have received 321Gone SPAM in 7 out of 8 of my EBAY EXCLUSIVE email accounts in the last 4 days.
These are email accounts that I had established and used EXCLUSIVELY on EBAY
over the last 3 years. # of them have not been used in over 2 years!)
I have NEVER OPTED-IN to ANYTHING with my Ebay email accounts either!
The ONLY way that these emails (on SEPERATE ISPs) could have been obtained, is by HARVESTING them off of EBAY.
So PLEASE do not say that you are not SPAMMING, because whether it is YOU directly, or whoever it is you contracted with, I GUARANTEE you that at least MY 7 accounts that you SPAMMED, were harvested from EBAY.
What a SAD and UNPROFESSIONAL way to do business...
I was considering listing at your site until
this happened, and now, you have lost yet another user do to unethical pratices.

Why would you have 7 eBay accounts? I have been there maybe 3 years also (will have to check, [email protected] is my ID) and I only have one account.

Hello all, Maria Bustillos from Popula here.
I would like to speak out in support of email advertising, and in defense of our colleagues at 321gone.
There is currently legislation in place controlling the manner in which email advertising is permitted. The most restrictive email advertising laws are in California, Colorado and Tennessee. These states require the following:
1. advertisers must not conceal their true return email addresses;
2. opt-out instructions must be provided and respected; and
3. the subject of the email must begin with the letters "ADV:", signaling advertising, so that it can easily be filtered by those who prefer not to receive such email.
These are reasonable rules, which make a necessary distinction between legitimate advertisers and scam artists. Provided 321gone is abiding by these rules, they don't deserve to be criticized for doing what all small businesses should try to do, viz., attract customers.
Why the violent outcry against this type of advertising, provided it is conducted legally? After all, in 1976 the Supreme Court ruled that advertising is protected speech--a First Amendment right. And everyone is bombarded with "unsolicited" advertising every day, via television, billboards, radio etc. Receiving an email from 321gone is, in fact, no different from receiving a coupon in the mail.
What is perhaps most irksome about the anti-spam outcry is that it discriminates hugely against smaller, less well capitalized companies like Popula and (I am guessing) 321gone. If you really want to see meaningful competition in our industry, then please, mash the "delete" key when you receive email you don't want; and let those who want it, read it.
