Well, for a CEO who people say doesn't know what he is doing I think thats pretty good.
Better watch out who knows what site will be his next!!!!
Way to go GT.
Sorry didn't mean to break any rules.

Auction diner is a directory of all auction sites. I have a feeling it was bought to tear down to lessen the chances of people being able to find auction sites for specific categories.
It also has news and developments about all major auctions site and some of the up and coming ones.
For any single auction site to buy it out is bad news.

I hope that is not an insinuation that BidBay will be buying AW next.
If anyone on BidBay believes that is possible then they are farther off the deep end than I believed before.
BTW what is the favorite flavor of koolaid over there?

I wonder if the people at auctiondiner fell for a stock deal? Or maybe it was for Bidbay bucks?

In typical bidbay mis-spelling fasion, an official statement from them:
"We at Bidbay would like to welcome everyone at auctiondiner to are family."

Just great. It will turn into another place for the Stepford Posters and sellers. It seems like a lot of the old timers there are not happy campers.
I bet they add the users there to their bidbay database. I have already changed my info at auctiondiner.

Now they have their own AW style site that they can register as many times with as many user IDs as they want!
Wonder if a "real" conversation will ever take place over their ever again!
***************************************
FrankyAuctionUser: Not sure I like Bidbay, I may stick with eBay.
BadbayBilly: We will have none of that! You're disruptive!
BlondeBadbayer: Yea BadbayBilly! You're the best. We can't have any of that!
****************************************
JoeAuctionUser: Does anybody use Bidbay? I can't figure out their item counting method.
BadbayBilly: Gone with you! Suspended! Go directly to jail. Do not pass go.
BlondeBadbayer: Yes Yes Yes! This site is the best! Please pass the Koolaid!

I allowed time for coolmom42's post to be edited because had I deleted it, the entire thread would have gone with it. Had there not already been several replies to the thread when I saw the edit, this one would have been deleted too.
Hope that helps explain the difference.

From Bidbay's SEC filing, they don't appear to exactly be rolling in money. Where are all these funds being found? Or maybe, they paid Bidbay bucks.

The bulk of the message board postings there over the past year have had nothing to do with auctions. The postings were mainly general chat, poetry, emotional support for real life problems, cyber fights, etc.

Buffaloguy is the seller of the web site in question. In the past he has occasionally come to AW to try to get free advertising for his site.... Kind of reminds me of the BidBay's CEO in that regard.

So what was the deal for.
My guess you got about 10,000 shares of bidbay stock and 1,000,000 BidBay Bucks.
Funny thing is...the BidBay Bucks will have more value...LOL

I rarely ever read the chat boards on Auction Diner, but they had some really good articles on various auction sites and internet businesses.
Just today, I was reading about that site in which William Shatner is supposed to have a large stake, Priceline or something like that.
I also liked the foreign language sites, it was interesting to try to decipher some of the words/comments/phrases.
I'm afraid that the only language on the entire site will now be only those comments allowed by "Big Brother" (the CEO) in praise of Bidbay, and will get rather boring real soon.

Not that I posted there very often, I just requested to be unregistered on AD via e-mail.
Based on what I've been reading, I want no part of Bidbay.

Amazing,
Just registered today. What is all the fuss about bidbay. I see them no diferrent than ebay LOL.
As to AD, I think it's a great site. I just hope that the CEO doesn't change it but make it better for all of us to enjoy especially "Parlez vouz francaise" "wee wee madamoselle" As you can see I'm learning frensh and it's great to speak to people from France.
AG, too funny, what are BidBay Bucks. I guess I'll check it out.
Thanks for the info

Anyone care to guess when AW will ban discussion of BidBay. I must say the people there are their own worst enemies.

Color me stupid if you wish, but I'd like to know how the acquisition of sites such as auctiondiner and that other click site they bought really brings bidders to the site???
The click site is a banner site. I don't take well to clicking on banners. I use search engines. How many people actually click on banners? AW has many banners, I've never clicked on or read one for that matter.
As far as another chat, do they really need somewhere else to go? It just takes away from the main objective of selling and bidding as it draws people away from the site.
JMHO of course.

WOW! One more online chat room for bb.
ROFLMAO
You cannot buy class, or stature.
Fortunately, it will never have the class or patrons that Auction Watch has earned.

So Basically AD sold out for the ability to buy their entire sites inventory of recipes. lol
Maybe to publish a cookbook to make some money??
Well Auctiondiner was effectively torn down just as I predicted.
No more news just a message board now.
And in honor of AW the first thing they did was start a thread about AW and claim how they are now the ONLY unbiased auction site portal.
Completely laughable
Auction Diner no longer even has an address
its at auctiondiner.bidbay.com
And they sure as hel are no longer an auction site portal.
Yeah sounds unbiased to me lol

I can't figure out how you all are looking at AD. I've tried and tried and just get 404 errors. The "back door" someone sent me a couple of days ago appears to be closed now.
I tried that addy, lovepotions, and got "HTTP 400 - Bad Request".

I'm there now actually
if you went to auctiondiner.com
you will get a totally blank page with nothing but a link that says "click here"
then it takes you to auctiondiner.bidbay.com
Maybe try to get there from bidbay??
Sometimes clickable links take you there easier.....*shrugs*
