Let me see if I have this correct. At my last count (Friday afternoon/evening), BidBay had about 1.7-1.8 million items listed per its home page. Then, the site decides to pull recipies from the count. Okay, fine. Now, as most of us know, BidBay has in excess of one million recipie auctions on the site. So, how can they have about 1.1 million items on the site minus the recipies? Are they using Al Gore's Fuzzy Math?

If you surf through bb's auctions, They dont have anything close to that. Just go to computers and count the listings. Go to CPU's
they say they have 47 cpu chips.. NOT! they have 7

I looked at the numbers. Here is a sample of what I found. In Antiques/Garden it says they have 230 and when opened they actually have 9. Then when you look under the main heading it says they have 4234 and then it takes you back to the 230 which = 9. Under cameras/35mm they show 334 listings, there are actually 28. And get this!!! Under digital it shows 347 and there is 32!!!Do these people think we are idiots??? Sounds like FUZZY MATH to me!! Not to mention one of the front page HOT items, a motherboard, up to $251.00 but when you look at bid history, it is some dude/dudette bidding on their own item!!!! ROFL!!!!

Koolaide anyone??? <winking>

I looked at this and couldn't believe it. Is this allowed on BidBay? I mean how did he bid up his own item? Was it a reserve price? I do not get it!

Obvious shill bidding HUH? I guess Bidbay doesn't care as long as it helps their numbers. One really wouldn't expect them to demand honesty and integrity now would one?

Some people think they are funnier then they are.
Kind of like the Kool-aid joke.
At the end of the day, you should try all the new sites yourself and then decide.
Then you will know for sure.

If you are foolish enough to go into bidbay and register you'd better have your ABOUT ME page set up, with auctions etc and feedback BEFORE you ever post on the chat board or they will Tar and Feather you!!! If you don't have all that at Bidbay you are a TROLL, a NOBODY!!! Never mind that you are new there and checkin' things out. Forget that!!!!! Sound like an occult????????? hmmmmmmmmmm. If I had it to do over again, I would not do an about me page, as I would want those people knowing nothing about me at all! lollollollollol, if you get it!!!!! Hi "C"

All it takes is a few listers putting dutch auctions up with 100,000 items available. That is also why a category shows a high number and you get in and there may only be 40 or 50 auctions. BidBay does not count listing numbers, they count items which gives them the inflated but accurate numbers. I am not sticking up for them just letting you know their flawed counting system in case you didn't already know how they get their numbers.

reo, I agree.

I also agree that if you do register, don't dare to have an opinion before you have at least 5000 feedback,(40 from unique users) and a me page, plus remember to list 1000 dutch recipe auctions per day so the kewl folks will know you exist.

I emailed a good friend of mine tonight after reading a comment by her, such as the above on the chat board and told her it was one of my pet peeves, to see that written about a new user.

We, everyone of us, were new users on (pick any site) when we first started. It does not mean we aren't entitled to voice an opinion, it does not mean we are stupid, it does not mean we aren't business savvy.

People want to know why I pulled my auctions. heh..

Folks, you can complain all you like on these boards. I understand the need to get rid of the frustrations that are obviously being felt. A better idea, would be to take action that would be positive to and for each of your needs. Be Proactive instead of Reactive. Here is some info for you.

bidbay is located in the community of Tujunga, California. This community is located in Los Angeles County, California.

These telephone numbers are public record and listed under Government of California (Los Angeles County).

The District Attorney's Office would handle all complaints of fraud, theft, etc.

You could also contact the Sunland/Tujunga Chamber of Commerce. Perhaps they could give you a starting point.

There is also the: City Attorney Consumer Protection Agency 213-485-4515

District Attorney's Consumer Protection Division 213-580-3273

Federal Trade Commission 310-235-4000

The City and County District Attorney Office fall under the guidelines of the Criminal Branch of Govt.

The County of Los Angeles, has an extensive web-site where you can locate a myriad of information.

It would be totally inappropiate to discuss it here. It does not follow the guidelines for this thread.

I gave you information that you might or might not find useful.

Because of your anger, you are over reacting to a point of not being taken seriously by anyone.
