I understand what you mean (no listing or FVF fees) but I don't consider any site is completely free.

My time to learn and list at any site has value/cost.

Which site provides the highest profit after considering time and expenses is the equation I try to keep in mind.

eBay is number one in most cases. I'm not happy just using one site and so I'll keep looking for additional venues.

I consider devoting time/effort and accepting lower profits an investment in the future. It also allows me to sell more duplicate units than the eBay market will sustain.

Which venue, other than eBay, will provide the best profit? Free or for fee is OK with me.

Don't think any one site is yet the clear choice for everything. Different marketplaces are producing profitable sales for selected items but no site is a clear universal number two in my opinion.

I think it will take 3 to 6 months for the marketplace to become clearer.

In the meantime we all just look and try.

Fortunately a lot of sellers share their experiences so I'm not wandering around in the "uncharted" wilderness of VOTES (venues other than eBay)completely on my own.

Which remainds me that I don't express my appreciation often enough. Thank you all.

While you are looking, try edeal.com. I use eBay, ePier and edeal. edeal is free for listing - no matter how often. They also have a great feature, to relist, you simply check all items and hit the relist button, takes about 1 minute to relist 60 items. They are still in the growing stage, the discussion page in chat is a great place to get help and support.

Hi critique,

I jumped the gun and deleted your post. In context, I realize that it is appropriate and it is now reinstated.

Yes, try http://www.quiksale.com. It is totally free, new and they charge nothing. It is set up like ebay, but you don't pay. You might want all your customers to know, and word of mouth gets around. Just some advise, hope it helps you. Also, Honesty.com offers free image hosting for 3MG bytes or less. And extremely cheap hosting costs for more. Now I am not affiliated with these services, and quiksale is new. It just might work if others check it out. I have gotten the word out already. Free is free.

quiksale set up like ebay? Not to my knowledge, it isn't. It's confusing and looks nothing like ebay.

Bidbay has much better sales ratios for me. Out of 600 + free listings I sell about $200 a week on average, since Jan 2001.

pbrain, what is your username on bidbay? You must have some really hot items if your selling $200 a week there! I'd hate to miss out on something so hot, so please please tell us, what is your username?

I have had some good luck with...

oldandsold.com

They are free and specialize in antiques. Most of my items got around 30-40 views. They have around 1500 items up for sale. Not bad. It's worth a look.

I hope I'm not breaking any rules here (can't find anything in the User Agreement against it).

I have a page on my website with links to over 50 on-line auctions. You're more than welcome to go take a look at them. Just click on my signature link. I don't sell anything there, so it's not a commercial site--only full of information.

To clarify, Bargain and Haggle has no listing fees. They do have FVF (less than eBay). I would recommend checking them out!
