I recently discovered Epier auction site and would highly recommend it. It is free and very easy to use. It also downloads it's own images. I was really impressed and hope it is here to stay.

I would also like to add that They have a gallery feature now that will hold up to 20 items. Very easy to do in my opinion. Also The sales have started to pick up some and the people there in the General chat room are definilty some of the best around. There is also a cancer bear auction going on and all the procedes are going to the american Cancer society. Come by and check out the bargins we have a little of everything.

I can't figure out how to load the photos. The html help page is not working and I can't find information on loading photos anywhere else on the site

Hello sabreena,
It is a little "different" from what we are used to...took me a while to figure it out. But what is good is that ePier host your images.....from the My Pier page...click on Sell Auction...then Image Upload from the Browse...then click Attach and the image will appear on your auction.
Hope this helps you. Good Luck!

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE WITH EPIER !!!
First off I have been with them for three months, and have had nothing but trouble with their site.
1. their picture host doesn't work, can't upload even a 25k item jpg. and you can't deleate your pictures on your gallery at all.
2. people leave feedback who haven't even won an auction, don't tell me how they do it, but this leaves every crack pot to list a negative on your feedback file area.
3. i have tried in vain to contact epier at several links, and addresses, with no returned answers, i explained in detail the problems, and they never return any answers.
for these reasons alone, and more, i am taking my auction off their site. as we speak. bidville, bidbay, pootah, at least these sites know how to treat their sellers, and buyers...

Just a little feedback here. I have just finished uploading some 10 pics to Epier and have had no problems at all. It is a great site. New and with a limited staff, I think they are doing pretty well. If you need help with setting up your auctions of pic's try their chat area. There are some really nice people there that are loads of great help. Makes up for the lack of tech support from Epier staff. There are two sites right now that are my favorite and have been my favorites for months: Bidville and Epier. I think that Epier is a much more superior site but is lacking in the support from their users. I will hang in with them for the long haul.

I just listed maybe 10 items. I found listing easier than Ebay direct but a liitle tedious because I usually list from AW, and you know what a breeze that is!
I guess I'll learn the short cuts on navigating the site soon enough...
Anyway, I just got an email that I received a bid already-- the items have only been listed about an hour!

sabreena,
Congratulations on your first bid.
I also miss the ease of Auctionwatch and I don't know HTML very well, so I don't have the nifty backgrounds. Don't forget you also have an Image Gallery...you can have 20 images.
As to the post about anyone being able to leave feedback for anyone, that is NOT correct. To leave feedback you MUST have either been the high bidder or be the Seller.......I know because I tried leaving feedback for a Seller and it would NOT take...said I had already left feedback (I forgot that I had already). You can delete images from the Gallery. Their Browse button accepts images easily...I have even uploaded 350k, although they do request 180k.
I have a (49) feedback already and am fortunate to have no NPB....so although the site is slow sales wise, I will hang in there as I sure don't miss those Fees.
Good Luck to everyone whichever site they choose....and Happy Easter!

WHEN I WRITE A POST, YOU CAN TAKE IT TO THE BANK !!!
When i said epier has problems, you can bet your next months paycheck on it.
epier has major problems with feedback ,
a person left six seperate feedbacks when they only bidded .99 cents on a hundred dollar auctions, then they wanted me to sell the items about $500 worth at a cost of their .99 cent bids, of course i had half the value reserve to protect myself, but at epier that doesn't work. all you have to do is type in the auction number of the item, bid or no bid, then the auction house will allow you to post a feedback, when it happens to you, then cry the blues...
the picture host they have is defective, after i e-mailed them over a dozen times they never responded with an answer, to this day i took off all my auctions, and will never go back their, and the defective pictures are still in the host area, and can't be deleated.
i can go on, and on., but what is the point, when you find out each word i say is true, then you will know for yourself.
let my tell you i have been doing this auction internet for over 2 years, and have
used many sites, and i have seen some really bad sites, epier takes the cake on this one.
give it sometime, when you get feedback from a nut out their who hasn't won a thing, then you will know, and when the picture host starts to give you nothing but error messages you will get the point...

Hey Startrek,
I am truly sorry if you had all those problems happen to you.....but it sounds like they happened a while ago.
EPier had a lot of problems in January and also in February, the site would go down, error messages etc., but I believe that all start up sites have their share of problems when they are in their infancy.
They have since added 2 new servers and their load time is actually quicker than ebay's at times.<P>
I also know that it was very frustrating for many people when Tech Support did not respond in a timely manner...in their defense they only have about 8 people on duty. They do now have 24 hour monitoring though, in case of site instability. The Tech Help Board is also much more responsive to questions that are posted.<P>
I don't fully understand about the auctions you mentioned, but agree that a bidder who expected to get quality, expensive merchandise from you for such a silly amout as 99 cents is ridiculous......I also feel that if you had emailed epier support directly they would have voided the relevant auctions for you, and also removed any negative feedback (something ebay never does),I know this for a fact as I have seen it done for one Seller who was blatantly abused by negative feedback from a less than decent bidder (the neg was removed and the bidder kicked out)....I think that ePier has a much stronger control on feedback now. Maybe in the past deadbeats could leave negs but not anymore (at least not for an unwarranted reason).<P>
Basically what I am saying startrek, is that I think a lot of the problems you encountered a while back, are no longer a problem at the site. They have fixed them.<P>
I am sorry that it turned you off ePier but just felt that if someone wants to give them a try.....past problems with the site should not deter a new user.<P>
Good Luck to you and Thanks
A. EPIER HAD TERRIBLE SERVICE FROM JAN, FEB, MARCH, AND APRIL UP TO THE 10TH, WHEN I CANCELLED...
WHAT WAS TERRIBLE ???
B. NO RESPONSE FROM THE STAFF AT ALL !!!
OVER A DOZEN E-MAILS TO EACH DEPT, HEAD, CUSTOMER SERVICE, TECH SUPPORT, MANAGEMENT, OVER A THREE MONTH PERIOD, ETC...
C. PICTURE HOST TO THIS DAY HAS NOT BEEN FIXED, WHEN ASKED A DOZEN TIMES, I CAN GO TO THAT SITE RIGHT NOW AND FIND MY AUCTIONS ALL TAKEN OFF, BUT THE DEFECTIVE PICTURES STILL THEIR WITH ALL XXXXXXXXXX INSTEAD OF A JPG. PICTURE, IN THE PICTURE GALLERY AREA OF MY SITE, WHICH I LOADED UP FROM THREE DIFFERENT COMPUTERS ALL NEW , AND JPG. UNDER 50K, IN MOST CASES ALL 25K AND UNDER...
AND,
D. THEY HAVE BEEN ASKED TO REMOVE ALL SIX FEEDBACKS FROM THIS NUT THAT LEFT NEUTRAL
FEEDBACK ON ME THAT I WOULDN'T CONTACT HIM, OR SELL TO HIM AT .99 CENTS, AND 3.99 AND WHAT EVER. AT $500 WORTH OF ITEMS. THAT HAD
A HALF PRICE RESERVE ON THEM. THE PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING, JUST GO TO STARTREK AND SEE THE FEEDBACK, YOU WILL SEE THAT THE PRICE WAS TO LOW FOR ANYONE TO WIN, THIS MAN CLAIMS, AND YET HAD THE POWER TO LEAVE FEEDBACK BY USING THEIR SYSTEM. EXPLAIN THIS PLEASE !!! EPIER STILL HASN'T RETURNED ANY MESSAGES, AND STILL HAS NOT TAKEN ANY OF THE CRAP OFF MY FEEDBACK. AND THEY THINK I AM GOING TO HANG AROUND THEIR, GIVE ME A BREAK.
I TREAT ME CUSTOMERS LIKE GOLD, JUST GO TO EBAY, OR YAHOO, OR BIDVILLE, BUT WHEN A AUCTION SITE TREATS SELLERS LIKE YESTERDAY'S DIAPERS, I SAY LET THEM EAT CAKE !!!

Hello startrek,
I will go and check that out, but in the meantime can I just say something? Why are you shouting at me? (ALL CAPS?). I am not your enemy. Please, I tried to be polite and also kind....I am willing to continue a civilized conversation, but not if you are going to shout at me.

i thought you had a problem reading my post, so i made the letters caps so you can see very clearly that epier still has some major problems, all i can say on the positive side, pootah, bidville, bidbay, ebay, and others have all returned my e-mails and with in the same day. epier is 3 months behind, my 98 year old grandmother moves faster then they do, they remind me of tim conway on the carol burnett show playing the old guy with the sneakers on...
posted on April 12, 2001 02:37:39 PM new
Hello again startrek,
You don't need to use CAPS!...my eyeballs are not that bad, although I do wear glassses, but I have not chosen to use Coke Bottle bottoms to see yet....but I am considering LASIK surgery, as glasses annoy me, but that's a different subject right?
Hey say Hello to your 98 year old grandmother...God Bless her.....don't know if I will ever get to that age let alone move faster than ePier......joke there buddy!
Please can we keep this light?<P>
I went into ePier and typed Seller startrek in both upper and lower case and got a user from England....???? So I could not see anything. So I am at an impasse with this. Can you give me an auction number? (hope that is not against A/W rules). I do not doubt for one minute your frustration at NOT getting an answer from ePier, but in all fairness would like to see you give it another go......hey I might even bid just to help out.....Happy Easter to you, and if ya wanna talk some more....I am willing...but nicely OK?
posted on April 12, 2001 03:02:08 PM new
Hello again startrek,
YES...I finally found out what you are referring to...with a coach person.......and I also am disgusted, but that was on March 9th, and you have since received good feedback from an honest buyer.
I am serious, you should send an email to epier at [email protected] and get that feedback removed, it was neutral not negative..........they will remove it.....I have no idea how they could have left it for an auction that had an unmet reserve, and they bid 99 cents!!!!!!!Now I understand perfectly your anger......and I would be ticked too.
But I would also try to rectify the error...please give ePier another try.......if not I wish you much success, and hope things work out great for you.

WE NOW RETURN TO OUR FAVORITE SOAP OPERA, "AS THE STOMACH TURNS"...
O/K, let me explain again,
i am a god fearing, honest, pleaseant, trustworthy, patient, kind, forgiving person if you knew me.
i am not perfect, of course sometimes i come very close...
but one thing i can't stand in this life time, or the next, a company that runs in a way to disrespect the customer.
when i see this, it makes me mad, upset, crankie, not in the mood...
epier has been contacted more times then carter has pills, more times than the warts around my neck area, more times than elizabeth taylor's been married, more times than clinton has used cigars, than what the original purpose was for...
now, i rather go to a dentist, and have my teeth ripped out with no novacaine, i rather
go on a 500 a day calorie diet, i rather go to disney world and wait in line for two hours in the summer with 100 degree heat for a 3 minute ride, or a motorcycle accident with the hot muffler still on my leg burning my flesh,
now ask me again if i should give epier another try. please make my day !!!
since you are a cheerleader for epier please contact them and ask them to remove the feedback and repair the picture host area, if you get anywhere i will come back to epier with no teeth in my mouth, a hot muffler on my leg, and heat stroke from disney world. and i will go further, i will give you a $25.00 gift certificate on any of my auctions with free shipping just as a good will gester, now i will be at my place with my cotton in my mouth, and butter on my leg, and ivveeee's in my arm and wait for the miracle of miracle's...

Dear startrek,
I love ya......I am ROFLMAO.....guess what? I will accept the challenge and ride my horse (I also have rode a Harley, Cherry Red Heritage Softtail..but that's another story)and attempt to take care of the feedback situation.....a female Knight in shining armour is about to lauch herself at ePier (by the way can you keep some fingers crossed, legs, arms and anything else that can cross without being painfull...lol)? I hope I can get back to you tonight...if not I assure you that I will get a response to you soon......stay tuned folks.....I wanna see startrek doing a gummy imitation...no teeth...lol

IF EPIER WAS A SONG, I WOULD CALL IT ?!
A. I can't get no satisfaction.(rolling s.)
b. another one bits the dust.(? guess)
this was one of my twelve messages to epier, which started on jan. 2001...
Dear Epier;
i am new to your site, and would like to place a large stock of star trek and nascar items, i need two things from you, one please let me know of any new fee's in the future if their are going to be, and your picture host area has some bugs in it, a more detailed discription will be in the letter attached with the error messages i keep getting, i am using several new computers with windows 98 and 2000, and all have problems with your site, and we are using 25k or less on most jpg. still can't up load. would you please contact us as we
are paying help to list these by the hour, in the mean while we will be placing on bidville, bidbay, and pootah, until then...
thank you,

Hello Dear startrek,
Get ready to have no teeth in your mouth, a hot (hopefully Harley) muffler on your leg, heat stroke from DisneyWorld (cool place) ...and more...Your bad feedback is GONE from ePier...they also said that the broken images will be gone within 24 hours. I phoned them (yes there are real people that answer phones).....they also told me that they tried to email you about your concerns but the emails were bounced back for some reason....so please give them another chance OK?

i appreciate all your help.
but i have some questions,
one we recieve over 500 e-mails per day, and on a slow day i might add.
in all this time we never had any problems in almost three years on the internet.
second, if they say they got our e-mails, but we didn't, then why didn't they fix the problems in the first place, something doesn't add up here.
third, i can't keep paying employee's to post on their site with these problems.
at least on pootah, bidbay, bidville, any yahoo, and ebay their is no problems in this area.
this last situation cost me when everything was done on their site, and to remove also around $350 in empolyee time.
i do appreciate the help, and if you would like please see what you want on my sites, i will send to you as promised.

Hello startrek,
When I phoned ePier to help you with that feedback stuff...he was very nice and agreed that what happened to you was wrong. He also added that there are much more stringent measures in place......NO WAY should that have happened to you, and would NEVER happen again. You can now only leave fedback on a COMPLETED auction......
I do not know why they did not address the issue you mentioned in an email to them, as I was not privvy to that...the person from ePier that I spoke to simply told me that they tried to email you and it was bounced back.
I know that you are a busy Business person, and want service.......so I am glad that you are doing well on the other auction sites...but would like you to give ePier a chance. There are some wonderful people there, and maybe you could get some sales.
They also have a phone number that you can call...and you will get a real human being that will help you.
I hope that all goes well with you, and NO I do not want the $25.00 of goodies....just give ePier a chance is all I ask. as to the following error message, please call ePier and they can guide you better than I can.
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a0035'

I GOT THE ANSWER I WAS LOOKING FOR. I FOUND OUT WHY EPIER WON'T WORK FOR ME AT ALL !!!
here is the reason,
First Browse for the image you wish to submit to us on your local hard drive:
(Cannot have #,-,/,*,~, and commas in your image name.
Image size need to be under 180K)
BECAUSE OF THE ABOVE RULES ON THE PICTURE HOST, IT SCREW UP THE WORKS, I HAVE PRE IMAGE'S ALREADY SET UP BY MY FACTORY OVER 10,000 LISTED WITH #,/ ETC,,, THE REASON WHY IS THESE ARE STOCK NUMBERS, AND NASCAR STARTS WITH #3 DALE EARNHARDT, OR STARTREK#10342PLAYMATES. I'M SORRY EPIER RULES SCREWS ME UP.
NO PROBLEM ON OTHER SITES, JUST EPIER, THANKS ANYWAY...
BY THE WAY ALSO, THAT IS WHY I CAN'T DELEATE THE PICTURES THAT ARE BAD IN MY PICTURE AREA, THEY ARE DEFECTIVE, BECAUSE OF THE RULES THEY HAVE. IT WOULD TAKE DAYS, AND WEEKS TO CHANGE OUR FORMULA, AND STOCK NUMBERS OVER TO PLEASE EPIER, NO WAY, NOT IN THIS LIFETIME...

Hello startrek,
Yes now I understand the Image Hosting problems you have had....this has happened with a few people at ePier...when you have dashes, dots or any flash marks in your images URL ....they will not go through......BUT hey the folks at ePier are open to suggestion....so perhaps you could ask them to do whatver it is that they do, to accept these images with the marks? Just a thought. I know that you have mega images.....but maybe if you could get rid of the dashes, dots or whatever...it may work?....If not, at least we now know why there was an Image problem... hey I wish you Good Luck.....Been a pleasure to work with you.....Best Wishes, Maureen

beecandles, I am very surprised that you actually found a phone number for epier and actually received support from them. I have sent countless emails and have never received a reply from them. The only support I have actually ever had was from the other members. So tell me, where did you find their phone number???? I just searched the site again for their phone number and couldnt find it anywhere!!!!! Is this something you can share??

Been watching from the rafters - Kudos to beecandles for remaining calm and rational in the face of severe rant!
startrek - thanks for posting the reason for your image problems - I'll remember that when I use their services.
back to the rafters, before I get yelled at for addressing the posters and not the subject *LOL*
