Hello,
I represent BuyItSellIt.com, a relatively new auction, classified and want ad site. We are a young site and haven't started advertising extensively yet, so our traffic numbers are still pretty modest. However, we are trying to set ourselves apart from the many other Auction sites out there.
To do this, we are looking for consumer input. We'd like to know what users want. What are the strengths of other sites? What are the weaknesses? What would make you want to use BuyItSellIt?
We want to make BuyItSellIt into a site that caters to the online auction community. If you have the time, please stop by, take a look and drop us a line at [email protected]. Thanks for your time.

Well, I don't want to write anything that will come off as an advertisement, to stay within the rules, so I'll just say that we're experimenting with that right now. We're starting to advertise and we're starting affiliate programs as well as all the normal stuff, but mostly, we want input from our users. We hope that if we build a site that uses suggestions from our user base, we can create an auction site that is very close to what they want. Once we have a site like that, hopefully word will spread about us. Once again, any suggestions anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

cdburg and dutchbid,
I checked both of your sites and, well very interesting. Gold's, boxlot, etc. couldn't make it. It seems very hard for a new-commer to make it unless they have millions of dollars to spend. If not, well, you'll end up like the others with empty hallways between each listing.
The problem, from my prospectous, is very simple. Sellers list items but, since there are no buyers, well??? You need to bring in both at he same time. That's difficult.
However, a little bit of advise. AW has bannere advertisements for sale. Why not contract with them for users. I see many here and some are good.

dutchbid,
No offense meant. I'm well assured and respectful of you intelligent. Otherwise, there will be many auction sites, just like yours.
However, for your info, purchased for 21.5 million after spending that or more. Do you call that a good purchase. For example:
If I spent 10 million for a company and sold it for 4 million, is that a good selling price.
Again, give auctionwatch a chance and advertise with them. Again, I wish you and yours the best with your endavours.
One more thing, pardon my speling since I have no time to check it.

Well, as a seller and occasional buyer, I REALLY liked the format that eWanted used previous to their "updated new look". They ruined it for me - too many steps and the print is eye straining - I wrote them three times with questions and/or suggestions, and they never responded. I agree- the SELLERS are here - GET US BUYERS! If I could afford a web site, I would happily advertise for you
Where are you posting ads for yourself? What key words would bring your site to my browser? I have found the "auction" word tends to scare people off - including me - think about using words more closely related to reSALE, Thrift, etc. Buyers want the best prices, but they don't want to spend the TIME bidding, waiting, etc. Do you offer a "wish list" or "notifier"? Hey, I haven't even been to your site yet - maybe I better get to that and get back to you - I could go on for hours designing the "perfect" ..... but I'll bet you get PAID!!
