I wan to try Bidville but am having trouble getting my photos on using my Yahoo website.

Is Bidville one of the auction sites that AW supports?

AuctionWatch has chosen not to support Bidville, which currently has more than 560,000 listings.

Aside from eBay, they do support Amazon and Yahoo!Auctions, but one has to wonder why.

hmmm.. established known auction sites and a newbie auction site that could be gone in the next year... that was easy to figure out.

I guess all the threads about Bidville dissatifaction don't mean much either... Of course not even willing to pay AW for search is rather ignorant business wise.

Established known auction sites?

That's interesting, because it raises another question.

Why are there NO threads related to the use of AuctionWatch for listing on either Amazon or Yahoo?

The answer is either (1.) both sites work flawlessly with AuctionWatch, or (2.) NOBODY is posting auctions to Amazon and Yahoo.

Which one do you pick? I choose 2.

"NOBODY is posting auctions to Amazon and Yahoo."

Anyone can post auctions to any site (as shown on BidVille), but the measure of a site's success should not be based on the number of listings, but on the number of sales.

So far I see lots on sales on eBay and Yahoo (don't know about Amazon) and I see very few sales on BidVille.

Maybe that's why. Or maybe AW "learned a lesson" when they gave Gold's it's own line and it died a few months later.

PS --- maybe 3. You don't need to use AuctionWatch to post on ANY site.

Actually Bidville decided to join AuctionWatch; however, it appears that AuctionWatch's price was too high. YES... Auction sites have to pay AuctionWatch.

Bidville felt they could spend their money elsewhere...

daredevil2010,

I remember that Bidville had some banner advertisements at AuctionWatch early on, but yanked them when they realized there was no support for their auction site here. I think that was an excellent move on their part.

What "costs" does AuctionWatch charge auction sites? Is that to have their auction site supported by Auction Manager, or to have a forum, etc.?

Obviously Bidville is to cheap to find out.
So where is there money better spent? All that other advertising they are doing must be bringing the bidders by the droves...
My visits there have been very disappointing and won't be bidding until enough competion is around to lower the opening bids.

Obviously you do not know whether or not AuctionWatch has a "rate card".

Interesting. I personally buy at several auction sites and bid on the lowest prices amongst all of them. And lately that has been at Bidville and ePier ... a total of some twenty items in the past month.

I'm sure it comes down to money, which is why they are not using it. Funny thing is, with the demise of Yahoo auctions, I find AW's search feature pretty useless. I might as well go to Ebay directly, there isn't anything at Amazon or Yahoo for me anymore. I'm at AW a lot less lately too because of it.
