Nanabees no longer sells on BidBay, due to moral/ethical issues concerning the higher-ups. This is based on public information contained in their SEC filings. However, I personally found it to be an auction site lacking in other areas as well...
1. Traffic: inadequate in comparison to the massive number of members posted on the front page...and the "hunt for the cowboy mascot".
2. Categories: very jumbled and confusing.
3. Time and assets: not managed wisely...spent on trivialities and games/contests, instead of spending it in the technical arena where needed.
4. Questions: not answered honestly by upper management, but instead a quick-subject-change or a glossing-over was proffered.
5. Inactive Members(no feedback or not selling any items): looked upon with suspicion---even disdain, by many members and staff and upper-mgmt.
6. Message Board: subject to deletion of posts, when an unwanted question was asked, or a constructive criticism was posted.
7. Overall unprofessional atmosphere.
These are MY observations of this particular "Other Online Auction".

Hya AllyKat!
Saddens me, that things are not changing for the better. Many nice people buy and sell there. Thought that maybe improvements in the important areas would occur after the visit from AG2. Perhaps in time...
Hope you are well! Great to chat with ya again!
Wendy
PS Hope I got that blue jumpy guy to work!

Sheesh... I hope this thread doesn't get locked also. Moderators been getting awful heavy handed, especially when they refuse to understand that a chat board is an integral section of any auction, and when issues cannot be discussed on one auction, there is a necessity of bringing them to the forefront on another site at least.
The public needs to be warned about shams like BidBay and if this not the appropriate place to do so, in *OUR* own way and manner then the staff here should AT LEAST ALLOW US TO POST THE LOCATION OF A FORUM THAT WILL. Such as the delightfully moderator free alt.groups on USENET.
I am wearying of this place, with the heavy handed deletion and locking of threads. I would love to be able to discuss things in a no-holds-barred atmosphere without having to look over my shoulder for an overgrown classroom monitor.
Wendy, does your new favorite site have interference free forums? Manybe we should take our discussions there. And then maybe certain 'forbidden-to-be-mentioned' members can join us there?
Or to put it another way, so as to be completely on topic with this thread, and OTHER ONLINE AUCTIONS topic: I am looking for the name of another ONLINE AUCTION with a completely uncensored and unmoderated message section. Nothing promotional, mind you (heaven forbid!) - just a name!

Hi snakebait,
Discussion of Moderation has to be done via email according to our CG's - please feel free to email us at [email protected] with any questions or comments you may have.
Also, please note that a link and/or URL to any other chat or message board is a violation of our CG's - please edit your last post to omit the information posted about the usenet group - as an alternative, you could ask others to email you for information.
Edited to add:
If you're unable to edit your post within the next 30 minutes it will be deleted.

Hello again snakebait,
I'm sorry I misunderstood the reference to the Usenet group, and I can appreciate your frustration, however, the basic rules of etiquette apply to all our forums here at AW, therefore I am deleting your last post.

I've been considering the creation of alt.* newsgroups devoted to Yahoo and Bidville discussions. Are you thinking of BidBay?
Moderator: These newsgroups do not presently exist and therefore cannot be considered "competition".
