I finally got SPEED on the internet.
Using Direcpc along with directv service.
Just installed yesterday on computer and what fun!!!! this has been. I adore the speed, but feel like I took 100 steps back getting it all working.
Anybody else using the service and any suggestions.
I know this isn't an auction question but did this so I didn't spend my life slowly looking for things on the auctions.

I have seen this in PC World magazine. I thought you had to buy some new reciever box or something. I didn't know it worked with your computer. I was thinking it was something like webtv. I guess I didn't read enough on it.
How fast do you move on-line, and what is the cost per month??

I had aol and was so tired of the slowness.
The phone company offered speed, some day !!!
No cable company had it.
So being as I had sort of a satalite tv system, I checked in phone book and found directv and direcpc. Now I did have to buy the equipment, one satallite dish, and with 3 tvs, 3 receivers. The reception on the tv is exceptional and the SPEED on this system is WONDERFUL. Instant gradification. The one thing that amazed me was the VERY GOOD support service on the phone. I mean answered and helped me thru all my problems CORRECTLY. I"m a walking commercial for them and thrilled I finally did it.
The equipment after rebates was only a couple hundred bucks, I can live with that(tvs and pc.)It's not like web tv.
It's of course costing about 50 bucks a month but that's the going rate for speed anymore. Internet speed that is!!!
Life is too short to WAIT for ever to load or get to a place on the internet.
