...and so the numbers are increasing pretty much across the board. ePiers site stability has vastly improved, the site is faster than it was but still sluggish compared to others. The introduction of fees for Feature Listings and other things plus ad banners should offset some of the costs involved with day to day operations. The proposed Paypal-like service which was touted to be the sites' bread and butter has still not materialized. Plenty of bugs remain in the gallery feature which frustrate members. Support is still wildly uneven, some members get email responses within an hour, others not at all. The tech support forum often goes for days without any staff postings responding to members tech questions. The home page is a cluttered mess and is in dire need of an overhaul by someone who knows what they're doing. All in all though, ePier seem to be making improvements slowly but surely that can only help the sites long term survival. They have a long way to go though, many members will jump ship long before they get there.

Thanks. I was one of their first members, but have strayed from the flock until more bidders arrive. Are they there yet?

not from what I've seen. Truthfully, it's a pretty moribund site in terms of auction action at the moment. Very few items ever get more than one bid.

You can see just how many auctions close daily with bids. It's pretty bleak, though, LOL. Go to the home page, then over on the right, a couple of lines below the 'ebay vs. epier' click on 'sales history'.

That shows how many auction were successful and how many and what type of feedbacks were posted for a given day.

I wish I could say ePier is doing better, but I don't really think it is (not at the moment, anyhow). I have items listed there and BidVille and have only sold on BidVille recently. A few months ago my auctions were doing fairly well on ePier.

I have been listing on Epier for about two months now and am very pleased with my sales. I have sold quite a few items. I do have over 1300 items listed but it is a free site and you can't beat that. I see it growing nicely since I first started and I really believe someday Epier will be real big. We will no longer be under the category of other auctions. We will be under the category of Epier. People are very nice over there and very helpful. I sometimes get tired of the constant controlling ways of other auctions not to mention any names. Once again it is free and how can you lose. List a few things and give it time. Things really do sell and are continuing to sell better and better. Great site!

Well, it won't be a forum at AuctionWatch, that's for sure, as its administration/management has already declined to create a forum for Bidville despite it having 600,000 listings; and now construes discussion of BidBay as "disruptive" and therefore banned despite having some 800,000 items.

If ePier does succeed in continuing to show increases in listings the likely prospect is ...

[PROPOSAL] alt.marketing.online.epier

dimview,

In the Services forum you will see a new thread for feedback. Maybe that would be the better place to post your comments.

joice,

Thanks for the pointer to the AuctionWatch Feedback forum, but my follow-up here is not intended to be feedback, rather it is a part of the discussion related to ePier and my response to an AuctionWatch users question about the prospects of having an singular newsgroup/forum.

I joined epier at the end of Feb. There were 1402 sellers, now they are approaching 2800. Not bad growth for two months. Major migration of ebay's latest castaways, the German thing. Good or bad they are bringing a crowd with them.

Bidding took a dive but things are looking up in that department.

So as ebay blunders away , this site keeps improving and growing.

Ebays cencorship of certain WWII Militaria items seems to have been a boon to epier.

The listings in that area have grown well over the last several days, and indeed a quite large percentabe of German Militaria items have some good bidding. Not just one bid at the starting price, but many bids per item, with a good many items showing current bids in the hundreds of dollars.

I would hope that dealers of American, Eurpoean and other Militaria items would give epier some consideration - and bring some of their bidders with them...I think theres a place for those folks on epier.

Speciality buyers and sellers for the most part, can be pretty loyal to a site.

This could have the effect of raising epiers visability, making better the item/bid ratio, and most importantly, bringing in some new faces.

those figures are impressive!! i new epier was growing but didn't realize the figures were increasing like that!!

granted the site still has bugs to work out but then what site didn't when it first started??

as long as epier remains a "free" site to list with it will continue to grow...i'm hoping it doesn't get bit by the greed bug like yahoo did

i don't know about the other sellers on epier but i have SEVEN PAGES of sold items!! granted sales are slow at times but they are steady for me at least...i sold 5 more items today!!
