Hi everyone--

For quite sometime I have been watching the discussion on BidBay. Further I read all of your emails to AuctionWatch moderators and understand all of the complaints people have. Quite frankly the complaints collectively appear to be trivial in nature and we would like our Moderators focusing on the real issues surrounding our Message Center.

To that end, we are asking all of you to refrain from discussing BidBay here. We urge you to post Bidbay issues on their message center forum. Further discussion of Bidbay will be considered disruptive and in violation of our community guidelines. Users who continue will be subject to suspension.

I hope you understand the direction here. We want to make sure that this forum is a comfortable venue for discussion for everyone, not just a select few.

Regards,

Chris Barker

This is NOT good news.

Problematic users from auction sites have demonstrated that they can effectively end disucssion at AuctionWatch.

Even the title of THIS FORUM is not inaccurate.

If AuctionWatch administration can point discussion toward another board, then clearly it has come time post a newgroup proposal to alt.configuration for consideration of a usenet newsgroup for free and open discussion of BidBay.

Not is is not good news at all Dimview.

And the ending of discussions have been caused by both sides...not just "problematic users from auction sites."

Well it seems to me at least discussing Bidbay here brought people to this dark basement.
And isn't this called Other Online Auctions?
What exactly can be discussed if not other auction sites?

I guess any other online auctions, but don't most of them have their own forums?

thought you guys at AW might want to know the CEO of BidBay has just posted on his announcement and Chat boards that AW has been FORCED to lock all threads pertaining and refuse to allow ANYMORE SLANDER & LIBEL by legal injuctions taken by bidbay. Guy is really crowing about it too!

Yes, most do.

A problem arises, however, when an auction site suspends a seller/buyer based solely on their messages to the "in-house" message board.

A little confused here. If eBay, Yahoo & Amazon have their own forums here and the 1,000 upon 1,000's of post in those forums range from good to bad, accusations amongst people, namecalling, locked threads, then why are they allowed to continue?
I don't quite understand the logic here.
This must be a personal vendetta between AW & BidBay and for no other reasonable reason.
But it is AW's site and I guess biased censorship is at the decretion of its owners, just like if I had a business and didn't like the way you looked I could say I don't want you in my store. But I don't like the way the other guy looks either, but he is a Corporate CEO of Standard Oil and can benefit me, so he stays.
Oh well, so much for free speech on the Internet.

yahoodoggie,

I can assure you that is not why we decided to end these discussions.

But, thanks for letting us know!

CDROM,

Remember the "stolen templates" issue some months ago; remember is long disertation by AuctionWatch administration, complete with "exhibits."

Me thinks that's the crux of the problem.

AuctionWatch users are merely pawns in a game.

Disclosure time.

Are you now or have you ever been a paid consultant for any auction site?

If so, which one?

Auctiongallery

It's obvious that discrimination and prejudice are blantanly exhibited here. I can't believe this is suppose to be a Public Forum open to all. I'm seeing exactly the behavior I saw exhibited in the south against people of color in the 60's in Wilmington, North Carolina for 3 years, exhibited in this forum in the year 2000, against a group of individuals. What Flag flies here?
Oh, I'll be censored for this, but I think it's to be expected.

Direct violations of the CG's?? Such as one member claiming I was trying to take credit for the locking of the Bidbay threads when my post was very clearly made BEFORE the announcement was made?? Surely not AG2 !

Yes allykat you have caught me I'm the biddybay ceo with nothing better to do than troll......
If you guys would just stop tossing around all the personal attacks on anyone who makes the slightest positive PEEP about biddybay maybe you could have kept a forum about biddybay here.

Hey

Just got NEWS that the old Gold's is up and running again!
Sellyouritem.com
Maybe we can start the Gold's Forum again ?

Hope with Sellyouritem that not like in the beginning at Gold's that 2 of the people posting right in this thread don't start a War of hate this time against each other. One left Gold's forever over it. Hope a bunch of you know what don't show up on the front page this time either and downgrade the site before it has a chance to get some class.

Dear Auctionwatch:

This is sad news Indeed, Both sides caused this; (no way)the truth Is, Biddybay doesn't, and never has allowed free expression of that site about members problems, and this goes back over a year ago, when that sites PTB and staff trolled these very same boards.

Furthermore; the site asks all their members to call them, you know why ???, no records of the conversations, no written(email) proof of the, well, lets call it ineptness at handling daily site failures, mismanagement, bad decisions, and moderations,(which are all through emails now also), among only a few of the things wrong there, and cloak and dagger stunts like accuring here currently, many, by biddybay staffers or contractors, who do have something to gain(members, integrity, money).

AW this is a diservice to your membership, seeking alternate sites, among the OAC.

crychek, please rethink this, as there are always going to be new members here, unaware of this sites many manipulations and gyrations, which quite frankly, seem, and appear to be dishonest In nature. Thank you.
