Hello Everyone!
I'm new here to AW so I hope I'm doing this post right! I stumbled across AuctionSaloon looking for sites that have free image hosting. Apparently listings, image hosting, email, and everything else there is free. So I figured, what the heck. I joined up for the freebies and went about my business. The next thing I know, the site's webmaster called me at home asking my opinion and input on the site! What I liked, didn't like, etc. I was like...dang! Right now the site looks like an "adult only" auction site. The Webmaster tells me that changes and improvements are being made to it every day. They will be making the "adult" stuff just one section and if the sellers come, they will be adding regular auctions categories as well. The categories they currently have are mostly empty...he said that they add new ones at the sellers' requests. He also told me that the owner has instructed him to install a "zero moderation" set of chat boards as well. I for one am really interested to see if they will. If anyone here is a member, I'm really interested to know if they have had any sales or plan to do any major listing.

Before we jump into discussion about this auction site, are you in any way associated with Auction Saloon?

Hello dimview,
No, I am in no way affiliated with the site other than being a member. My user name is from the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. The lead character is an old western-style gunslinger named Roland.

I personally do not care if individuals posting are associated with the auction sites their "promoting" -- AuctionWatch may have other ideas on the subject -- but just want it disclosed up front if they are.
Given the focus of Auction Saloon it will be interesting to see how the auction site develops.

You're very welcome! I too am interested to see what happens to the setup. If they do make the adult stuff a single section and get rid of the intro warning I think that will help a lot with some sellers and buyers. I'm no Bible thumper, but I have to admit that I was a bit cautious when I intially entered the site. I did make a few category suggestions as well so I'm curious how long it will actually take them to appear as well. Nothing I sell is considered "adult only" so I'm not listing a thing yet !

I think I know the owner and he's very upright and honorable. Don't hesitate to do business with him IF he's the one I'm thinking of.

I just received confirmation that my suspicions are absolutely correct. Don't hesitate to do business with the owner of the site. You're gonna love him. Trustworthy, honest and a great businessman.

Wow...that's quite the recommendation mtnmama! I don't know if the man that I talked to was the same person or not but he was very polite and professional. If they add in the categories that I suggested I think I will give them a shot with listing a few things. What have I got to lose after all? I seroiusly doubt that it could be worse than the last site I had to deal with!

I haven't run across this one. If they do change that front page and put the adult stuff off by itself, will someone let me know, please? I'm afraid to walk in the door as it is.

I've done business with him at his store aside from auctions. He comes with my seal of gold approval!
Wallypog, It's strictly an adult site. Anything not adult doesn't belong there. Changing the front page will open it up to underage kids. You don't want that, do you?
They need the disclaimer and the agreement.

Hi again !
I just got an email telling me to check out the new format. I popped over and POW! It's totally different already! I knew that they would take a few suggestions into consideration but I never expected it to happen so fast. You really wouldn't know it was the same site I swear. They have a lot of the main categories set up already and I'm sure that the sub-categories will follow. By Golly, mtnmama! You hit the nail on the head! Apparently the adult stuff is now in its own section along with the entry warning banner. Now I have to find stuff to list...I figured I'd have more time than this

I'm sorry, mtnmama. I must've misconstrued what I read above. I was thinking they were going to turn it into an all-around auction site then have the adult stuff in a separate category. My mistake. *blushing in the corner* LOL.

My error and a big one too!
I just received this email as well part of which said to let folks know that now they can go post anything they want. All the adult stuff has been seperated and should not appear anywhere in the general category even if they do a search for a known user that has adult items running!
So Wallypog come on out of that corner! You don't look good with an angled face (get it? Corner? Angled?)
And everyone! Check it out! The guy will not rip you off, he will not chase you out (unless you're doing something illegal) and will not play favorites.

LOL No--it was getting just a bit cramped there, LOL.
Just took a look at the new 'home' page--I know that script! Now I'll have to make sure to add them to my auction sites list. I've been looking for a few more sites to add--like to keep fresh updates.

I want to apologize to all of you. I was misled by the so-called owner of this site. It's not who I was led to believe. The man keeps telling me he owns it, yet if you check whois, his name isn't even registered. Sorry for the mixup. I can't recommend this site to anyone as long as the whois stands as it is.
