I was wondering if anybody knows of a good website that ranks the top auction sites? I used to get on top9.com but they haven't updated their statistics since March. I am interested in getting an un-biased look at the top sites. Any help would be appreciated.

Most of the free ranking sites are gone...aka the rest of the dot com space. I think gomez.com is still running. My company used to recieve data from pcdata online but they too have merged and new company now loger ranks verticals. The last reports on auctions from PC data was April - I believe this was the general order in terms of unique visitors -
ebay
yahoo
amazon
bidz.com
ubid
auctionwatch
fairmarket msn-lycos
first auction
epier
edeal
there could be a couple missing - I do not remeber where bidville was - perhaps they did not have the numbers at that time

hope that helps

Haggle.com - Good for computer related items. Good sellers and bidders.

Lycos Auctions - good for computer related
items and electronics.

Auctionweiser.com - Good for collectibles, computer related items, and hard to find items. As well as their free services.

TBay - Good for music, movies, etc. Free Site to sellers.

eDeal - collectibes and entertainment mostly. Has a good marketplace as well.

Hope that helps.

LOL, I had never heard of ehammer, so I visited. HA! The fees are as much as Ebay or nearly that much. The collectible catagories had barely any listings. Was that humor?

Note that FirstAuction.com has closed its doors.

Here's my list of auction sites:

gomez.com posts the only "intelligent" rated list of the top 10 sites. They go through a long process to compile the list.
good luck

Gomez hasn't posted any new sites since mid 2000. I wouldn't recommend going by that list.

Just lending my voice.
