These are excerpts from posts made on another topic here. I am posting them here so that this topic will hopefully not fly off on a tangent.

Yes, things are very busy and we will be having a big press release to kick off our
membership drive pretty soon.

The membership drive wont be for another two or three weeks already I am told there is
over 300 interest in membership in AuctionPie.

I am told that when membership reaches 500 or 600 register users willing to pay a membership fee, the auctionpie auction site should come hopefully 3 to 6 month after it has that much backing or more.

_____________________________________________

I invite the organizers of AuctionPie to post here when this membership drive actually begins. As well as the progress towards the 500 to 600 members necessary to kick off the construction of the actual auction site.

canvid13,

With all due respect, the bickering on the other thread makes it difficult to find any real information.

Evidently, getting the word out about this co-op really isn't high on your list of priorities.

Really disappointing to those of us who were interested, but never contacted.

Just to keep This clear What I was talking a about the membership Drive this is not new Information this was in a news Release printed to News letter includeing the Auctionpie new letter.

This was Released in Krauses check there Archive also check back in the AP newletter Archive.

But I would think for sure that Jamie or Shaz will be posting the notice When the drive starts.

toollady

And anyone else out there who feel they have not been Kept up to date on the AuctionPie the Co-op There is A Public Messageboard and Live chats every Sunday night Starts at 8PM every sunday night also if you miss any messages on the board or any chat All the updates and information can be seen in the news Letter the links to all these things can be found at the AP Website and no one can post the links for these things here as it is concidered Promoteing also some of the thing ap is doing is concidered to be competeing with AW it can be posted here for that reason as well.

This is one reason much of the discussion was moved off AW NO matter How much people involed would love to Discuss all things here It is concidered promoteing No different then if bidville or Sellyourown item and Others are not allowed to say certin things.

I have not received a newsletter lately.

The last one I received announced the live chats. Unfortunately, (I guess for me) I am unavailable on Sunday evenings to participate in the live chat.

The last time I was to the message board (last week) there were no new messages.(is the message board still the same, or is there a new one? I noticed a link off your site to a message board. That is the one I visited.) I just went to the site now and the message board which has a link on the left side of the page is hanging because of the ad server. The page has been attempting to load now for 4 minutes. Should I give up now? Tried hitting escape, but then, all I get is a blank page.

Hi Toollady,

As Rich points out, Auctionwatch is very gracious in allowing us to discuss Auctionpie.com here on their messageboards but we do try and respect their rules.

I and all of us are only human though and on occasion err.

As for contact, we already have several hundred folks recieving our newsletter. We do notice that most do not use our message board. We can't push anyone to do so. Have you posted there? You could start a thread if you wish.

One of the problems we see in this market is that folks don't understand what a co-op means. It doesn't mean that we at AP do everything for your approval. If you (not you specifically toollady) want a co-op that means we all have to perform.

That's why we've evaluated our concept of Auctionpie. We probably won't be a true co-op when we get up and running, however we very much still adhere to all of the policies that we've mentioned.

It's utterly important to create a safe and stable place for sellers to be able to build their businesses from without fear of having fees jacked up or policies dropped on them that hinder their business.

So again, to answer your question, we can't say everything we'd want to say here. But this info is available elsewhere on the web. We are here purely for information purposes and to answer questions.

And if you want to help or particpate you are welcome to. I know Sharon always needs help with the Newsletter and as you pointed out we need more help spreading the word.

As for our official membership drive it's coming. We are not behind schedule, close, but not! We are finishing our legal structure and bylaws as well as developing our own set of promises to sellers and bidders. There's lots happening!

Thanks,

Jamie

All I am asking is that when the membership drive actually starts that someone post here to that effect.

I've given just about all the input to the co-op organization efforts that I care to.

I'm not interested in ongoing discussions about what the co-op should look like or act like.

What I am interested in is seeing a "here is our plan" presentation that I can then "vote" on by either joining or not.

Hi Code,

Unfortunately an organization cannot always tailor itself to the needs of one or a few folks. We release the news as it becomes available. If you get our Newsletter you will get all of the news. We discuss this very subject in the current issue (see our site if you want one or email me) but cannot list some of this info here at AW because we are trying to not break their guidelines of being promotional in the nature of our post.

As for "THE PLAN" well we've shared this in many places including AW. Again we've given out a lot more info in our Newsletter this week.

We also hope to make a design announcement in the next week or two.

We realize that many sellers do not wish or have any desire to be "hands on" which is why Auctionpie.com is now taking the direction that it is regarding its future.

Hope that answers some of your questions. Feel free to post any questions here or at our site and we will try and answer them for you!

I don't see what the problem is with announcing here that your membership drive is officially underway and that your business plan/prospectus is available should someone wish to review it and decide for themselves that they are interested in the co-op.

Perhaps the moderators would post here that it is permissible to make such an announcement?

Codeasauraus that info was in our newsletter this week. It's free. All you have to do is go to our site and sign up for it.

Pretty painless and much less frustrating for both of us than going through all of this here on AW.

If you wish send me your email and I'll mail you a copy.

You might want to check your mail list. Maybe many others aren't getting theirs either.

Don't you think some type of announcement should have been posted to the co-op site? Sheesh, here I am thinking there are no updates, when in fact, it's a mail list problem.

Had I not mentioned the fact that I hadn't received the latest newsletter, you (as in collective) would still not have said anything.

The point is, you are losing potential co-op members daily.

Between the newsletter not being received, no synopsis of what was said in live chat, virtually no messages in the chatboard, the pithy remarks being made here and elsewhere and a site that takes forever to load, people are getting discouraged very quickly with this particular group trying to make a go of a co-op.

I know I am.

Well toollady to be honest I just relized this problem in the past few days and wrote Shaz about it to see what had happened .

AS Far as posting any of the results or info about the live chats Which we have at this point have had 7, The NEWS Letter, AuctionPie,Logos, banners, survey and contests are The results of the live chats on sunday.

The Live chats Which are more or less free form and a way to get to know each other better Live have produced Solid things people can see, as well I find there is no fighting and stuff in live Chat People just seem to come in and enjoy an hour or two of company in live chat as sellers & buyers we talk about the down falls of where we are selling & buying and many good Idea have came from these chats.

Just live sales on auctions and posts on AW the warm weather has reduced the amount of posting on the board and even the numbers that attend live chat Lot of people are not spending days at the PC as they did in the snow and cold of the winter.

I think Jamie and shaz made no posts about a problem with the news letter because up untill you said you didnt get yours they thought it was just a problem I was haveing mind you, you are only the second person who mentioned you havent been getting them.

This is a conundrum! My first instinct is to mail everyone we have emails from and on our guestbook but if folks have been getting their email they may think we are just spamming them??

For anyone out there. If you want a copy of our current Newsletter email me and I'll forward one to you. I do know that the listbot is working as I'm getting both Newsletters so Rich is right and some folks may simply have to sign into our AOL version.

Email me at [email protected] or Sharon at: [email protected]

These are some of the things we are ironing out as we evolve and get to the point where we get our site up! That's another reason why it's taking as long as it has.

Thanks and Rich is right! Come share your thoughts at our Sunday night Live Chats!!

Hello Jamie,

You have my permission to send me the firast issue of your newsletter that outlines the details of the proposed co-op and solicits members.

You do not have my permission to email me in any our circumstances.

Hello Moderators,

Please lock this thread. It appears that it is not serving the purpose for which I originally opened it.
