One thing to be on the lookout for are manufacturer's rebates on products from Staples, combined with one of staples "$20 off a $50 order". At $50, you get free shipping. I recently found a 900Mhz phone with a fair number of features with a $20 rebate off a $50 cost (well, $49.97, so I had to buy a $.70 set of rulers to get above the $50 free shipping level). Combined with the staples coupon, I got a decent phone for $10. Its not my main phone, so I didn't mind buying a cordless phone "sight unseen" (cordless phones have the highest return rate of consumer appliances, due to high variability of performance, features, etc).
Obviously this strategy would work with almost anything on staples. You can go to their web site and surf the rebate section and see if anything interests you. I think there is a 40X cdrom drive for pretty cheap when you use this method, although I didn't specifically order that.
Go to either deal-finders.com or dotdeals.com to find the staples online coupons.
