Damon, I have seen several other people asking this question. Why is an electronic transfer withdrawal from my PayPal account I initiated on the evening of September 12 showing up as PENDING in my account history as of the evening of September 13? I requested a transfer of $200 to my business checking account. A reasonable response to this question would go a long way to alleviating certain fears.

Thank you.

Don't know why my question wasn't answered, but as of this morning, 9/14, the withdrawal is showing as "completed." I'm guessing it was showing as pending because I initiated it after business hours on the 12th and PayPal must wait one full business day before listing the transaction as completed. I would have liked a straightforward answer, but given the level of anxiety around here about other issues, I guess this issue fell through the cracks.

I also made a withdrawal on Sept. 13 at around 9:00 in the morning their time, 12:00 noon my time. My account still shows as Pending as well. We would all like an explanation as to why it is taking so long to be completed!!!!

I request a check on the 12th, it listed as completed. Then it listed as pending. Stayed that way through late last night. I emailed their customer service and within two hours the check is listed as completed again.

Too much funny business, so I closed the account.

Hi all,

The item would show as pending until it hit the download, which occurs the next business day.

PPD - that's absolute bull and you know it and I know it. If that were to be the case then the request I made yesterday morning when this all hit the fan would be completed by now. It's not. I'm starting to get the funny feeling that my money is being held hostage until I'm forced to upgrade my account. Won't happen. I'll close the damn thing and force you to cut me a live check before I'll upgrade.

It's the answer in the book.... not necessarily the truth.

The next business day is over and my withdrawal is STILL PENDING!!! I can normally request one at this time of night and by noon the next day it is completed. Is PayPal going to reimburse me for the interest I'll now have to pay because I couldn't pay my credit card balance off in full??

Hi. I'm pretty sure they're not FDIC insured. They are supposedly insured for up to $100,000.00 through Travelers insurnace (so it says on the PayPal site) by I don't know what they are insured against. I'd like to know too. My 3 withdrawls are still pending from yesterday afternoon and evening and they've never taken this long before. I did remove it PayPal from my auctions last night, it took a couple hours.

And the run on the (non) bank begins!

The pyramid starts to crumble, as the new money dries up and is not longer there to fund those $5 referrals.....

The PayPal/X.com employees start looting their offices....

Why wait for your money? Use CheckSpace (www.checkspace.com) instead and the money goes straight into your bank account.

I am amazed at the mean-spiritedness and goading that goes on here when someone voices a concern. Just another reason why I am taking all the shrieking hysteria about PayPal here on AW with a heavy dose of salt.
