They first said, in the summer, and then the end of summer, and now they say sometime in 2000. Anyone know the truth? What countries will be included?

My theory is that it will start very soon.
The reason they are seizing and freezing so many accounts of so many sellers is to have the operating capital they need so that they can cover all the fraud cases that accepting international payments will incite, particular considering the company's history of not thinking things through.

Hi CherylHahn,
International is slated for release right around Halloween and there will be 26 countries that can use the service. This should greatly expand the market for sellers.

Are sellers provided protection if Paypal is from a fraudulent international buyer?

Hi,
I have passed this along to the international team so that they can set a policy on protections on international transactions.

Hi, Damon!
Is there a list somewhere of what the 26 countries are/will be?
Thank you,
Cheryl

Please tell me that Mississippi will be one of the 26 countries on the list. I've got relatives there and it would be great to send them money. They've been living on okra and grits for years now.

Yeah, I guess. I moved to Mississippi a couple years ago, while they do use US money, and I wasn't required to have a passport to enter it sure seems awfully foriegn to me. You should see the things they eat! Turnip greens, okra, grits... order a martini and you get a side of grits.
They talk real funny here too.

Hi CherylHahn,
I don't have the list, but I do know that Canada is for sure. My understanding is that it will be the countries with high internet penetration and sound economics with low fraud.

Hi Zazzie,
As I have not had all the training on international just yet, I will not say for 100% certainty...but the feedback I have is in US dollars.

I am sure there will be an international addition fee to "cover our expenses". if not now they will let us get used to it and then pop a charge on us 5 months down the road.
