Has anyone received any e-mails regarding the PS2's shipping to customers yet?

Last email I received was a week ago saying mine would go out between Dec. 1 - Dec. 5.

Let's keep each other updated.

Did they e-mail you randomly or did you e-mail them to let you know when they are shipping? I haven't heard from them ever since I received a notification of receipt of my paiment....
I e-mailed them last week asking when I can expect mine to be shipped, but I haven't heard anything....I'm thinking about calling later today, even though people say there is nobody there.
My payment is on my statement already, and I got to either get my PS2 or money back!

Why would Gametek have sent an email? They said they would send an email after the unit has been sent and they said no units would be sent until December 1st. It is not December 1st yet.

Exactly...that's why I was wondering.

Well, I wanted to talk to the people there about this anyway.

I emailed them & they responded.
I am just going to wait until around the 5th to start worrying.

I guess I'll just wait and see what happens.

GameTek told me that mine will be shipped around Dec. 5th.

scottv,

I have deleted your post because of vulgar language. Even though you used asterisks, it is not appropriate for our forum.

Well, something is happening. More minor changes to the page.

The "Check Order" option has been removed.

Signifigance? Hell if I know. The database is still intact. I just see it as proof that there is still someone out there. =)

Mm. So few days left... mmn....

I spoke to someone at Game Tek and they confirmed that they are still shipping as planned.

I have spoke to GameTek 3 days ago on the phone, and he told me that they are shipping as planned, too.

Note that their office opens from 1pm - 8pm Pacific Time. That is after 4pm for me...

Thanks for the reply, I was calling after 4pm east coast time. I'm banking that ps2cart will come through. Others have had problems with PayPal. I have had several e-mails with ps2cart and am not worried.....

I ordered my August 26th and it is coming via UPS ground. Although it looks like I ordered mine just in time as they appear out of business today.

Well, has anyone started filing for a refund of their money with paypal? Does anyone know of someone who has done this succesfully?

Hey cornholed what's the number to gametek, since their site is down I can't get the number, so I can call them and see why their site is down and when my ps2 is shipping.

What is the estimated delivery date for the guy who got the tracking numer, and what are the details, I think you can find weight of package and so on. Does it look bonafide?

Why would you file for a refund? They arent due to us until the 15th. Wait all this time and they ask for a refund right before they ship? Oh thats real smart.

I won't be asking for a refund from Gametek, I am going to start filing for my money from paypal.

Why? Hmmmm maybe the fact that their site is no longer operational on the exact day they were supposed to start shipping? This is really starting to stink. I'll call and see if I can get a real person, but my email of 5 days ago has gone unanswered, and that is not a good thing.

Give me some reasons to be more hopeful if you have any, I sure can use them because I hear that getting money from paypal under their buyer protection is not a cakewalk.

Sorry igotgame, I didn't remember your screen name on my first post. You said you got a tracking number from them, but you didn't answer when the estimated delivery date is and whether the weight seemed to match what a PS2 should weigh. I think many here would appreciate it if you wouldn't mind offering this info.

Reaper that info is really not your business but maybe the info on this link is.....

I especially don't like this comment...

The BBB (Better Business Bureau) said in a statement that Sony told them "any commercial Web site that claims to have thousands of Sony PlayStation 2 products for sale is making a bogus claim."

Ut oh.

Sorry Igotgame, didn't mean to step on toes, but I didn't think an estimated delivery date is a big deal, it is on the tracking page if you click on the details button. I only wanted to know so I could tell when to check in and see you either beaming with joy, or cursing.

I will check your link, but I agree it looks very bad. I'll try calling gametek this afternoon ( I on the same coast as them ). Then if things continue to look bad I will be contactin paypal.

I still haven't heard from anyone out there if they have succesfully used paypals buyer protection. I have invoked their seller protection when someone used a bogus CC and it worked beautifuly, no frozen account or any of that BS so I can't say that PP has treated me bad so far. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Wow, that url that Igotgame posted is a real eye opener. Go visit the website that they mention in the story, it is really well done, I would have ordered from them if I found it first. Only problem was that they don't take paypal and I wouldn't trust any fly by nighter with my CC number.

I'm just hoping that PP will hold up their end of the bargain and refund me my money when this all goes to h*ll.

All I will tell you is that I wasn't dumb enough to buy from PS2Cart. My neighbor did and when he called Paypal to inquire about getting a refund. We had it on speakerphone and when she looked into Gametek her exact words were "OH MY.....well if anything does come from this it appears that a very large claim will be filed." Of course you have to understand that all these claims are from idiots who can't wait until December 15th to get their Playstation 2 so there is no basis.

Your credit card number is safer with a marijuana smoking restaurant waiter than it is with PayPal. Consider, and see if you don't agree next time you pick up the tab.

The fact that a company can charge cards says something important about it: some real financial institution trusts them with money.

If I wanted a PS2, and some company was offering one with direct credit card payment, I'd go for it.
