You're right! I have have a BillPoint account as well and never experienced any problem. The trouble is only, that the vast majority of sellers is using only PayPal. I also tried to encourage some sellers to sign up with BillPoint as well, but some of them declined due to their close connection to Ebay. They mostly have older accounts and wasn't forced to provide them with their creditcard details. And if you know about Ebay's rigid charging policy, you know what I mean. Michael

I seem to remember that those who clicked the button to close their accounts were presented with a pop-up window informing them that once closed they would not be able to open another account.

Is that correct?

yes .....but i had an american account and was even verified...i hold both citiionship.....and again that is not the point ...the point it the amount of time i was told it would take to get this worked out . They are very deceptive, they will tell you 2 weeks and it's more like 2 mouths. I have a ver good example..When you open an international account you can send the money right to your cedit card. On the paypal web site it says it will be put on your cedit card by the next bussiness day....They are lie, and how do i know..It took 5 days to get credited to the credit card. I called and asked why does the web site say one day!!!! They said sir it takes up to two days to process to the account .So i asked them why did the web site say the next day???They had no answeer. So i called my bank and asked when the money had been processed . Guess when it had been processed , 4 days after i had tranfered the money from paypal...They are basically holding the money and telling you that it your bank, who is taking so long!!!!! ...exaple nuber two the charge for converting the money from american to another currancy...guess what they are charging for somthing your cedit card already does for free!!!!

Eastwest---I have trouble believing things that you say ever since you proclaimed proudly how you were ripping off Canada Post on your postal manifest---are you still doing that?? So if you were (are) willing to cheat the Federal Government---why are you crying foul now?? Ever heard of Karma???

I don't believe Paypal required you to be a USA citiizen when they first opened ---just a USA resident---

I am sorry , you must have me confused with the person who admitted they made a mistake. I stated before and i will again that i was wrong. Sure hope you treat your family better then the people on auction watch.I guess you would never bring up somthing they did wrong when they admit it , and want to improve. For the record, i have chosen to bite the bullet over xmass and take a loss on the shipping. Kind of my own penence !!!!!

As for the American thing..Well I was told after they froze the account 2 things..First they told me i had to have an american account. I told them i did ...then they told me i had to be an american citizion..I hold both .....Then the lady told me on the phone to hold!!!! Then see came back and said i had to reside in the U.S.A. Seem that the staff on the phone are not sure of very much. And again it's not the fact that many Canadian held a paypal account before the international thing stated ....The fact that you had to live there was NEW to me ...but i have learned more on the thread board then from Paypal staff...Then i call them to ask if what i have heard is true!!!!1
