I sent in my dispute form to MasterCard a week ago. Customer service called me from MasterCard today to tell me that PayPal and PS2Cart are on their "non-approved" merchant list as of today.
In other words (according to MasterCard) they are not approving any more charges because of "major problems" her words again to PayPal through their company.
Also, the charge back made on my card against PayPal gives them 45 days to respond. If they cannot prove I received the merchandise, then the charge back sticks.
She also said this was the same way they handle the charge backs on Priceline.com charges and the scam that they ran.
The credit card company also said to KEEP copies of the e-mails and other information to support our cases.

ps2cart never was a credit card merchant, so far as one could see, and so far as anyone has reported.
They needed PayPal.
I suspect we'd have heard confirmation if PayPal were truly unable to charge cards.
PayPal's bank wouldn't likely cut PayPal off over the ps2cart fiasco. If the bank does cut them off, the bank is responsible for the chargebacks. Banks cut off scammers a lot faster than PayPal cut off ps2cart, but merchants who screw up are allowed to hang around to pay up.

Hi Sg52,
I am interested in the information posted by the user making a claim about the cc company not accepting us. This is an item of concern and I would need to pass it forward to the appropriate parties before I could even comment on the issue (validation).
I am still lurking quite a bit, but my hands are tied with several other items at the moment.

My credit card company said it was fine to do a charge back to the credit card especially since I Blind Carbon Copied them the several emails I have sent to Paypal regarding the PS2Cart issue over the past month with no response from Paypal.

Hello. I ordered 2 PS2s from ps2cart.com and I used my Visa to order direct from them via their secured site. I did not involve PayPal at all. I contacted my card company and they said that ps2cart.com did indeed place a charge of 669.98 against my card but did not turn in the proper paperwork as of yet to claim the money so nothing has came out of my account as of yet. Unless I freeze my CC account which I probably will, they can place the charge any time. FYI...they definitely did not need PayPal to place a charge on your credit card. Thanks!

Dear Paypaldamon:
I am happy to talk with you about this here in public. However, I do not want to discuss it privately because your company has done nothing to help those of us that made the charges through you. What is this guarantee worth that you post?
Here is exactly what happened. First I am a 43 year old male with a great job and NO reason to look to cause trouble for you or PS2cart...
However, you accepted my charge on my card and forwarded it to ps2...or so my account information with you said....
Then the back and forth with ps2 and pay pal. Both say the other is responsible. They say you have my money, which I believe to be true since you never sent it to them, and you tell me they do not have products to ship.
The problem here is that MY money is, or was, in your account. You froze it and kept it because of concerns over ps2.
However, when I asked for a refund, NO ONE from paypal even tried to help.
My Mastercard company has told me again today via fax that Paypal is being reviewed for "revocation of merchant status"....
You guys did it to yourself. You are quick to take our money and then slow as hell to refund it.
Your company deserves all these chargebacks. The GREAT thing for us is that you lose 3.5 percent on both the charge and the credit which means you lose 7 per cent of all these hundreds of thousands of dollars.
You deserve it all. If you want more information from me, I will be happy to discuss it right here in public for all to see.
The truth hurts.....ouch 7 per cent hurts...

Scooter - I agree. If paypal is "holding money, so Gametek doesn't get it", why can't they REFUND the money to the people who want it. Paypal knows its a scam, yet will not release funds. Quite an interesting way to gain capital (ie, gaining interest on OTHER peoples money).

OOOOOOYaahhh! This is good news! I hope that Visa follows suit. Then I can close my pain in the butt PayPal account and don't have to worry about people wanting to use PayPal any more... I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
