You know it's just not fair. AW touts a new service and floods of people run to sign up. It looked good and the free listing day was the icing on the cake that convinced me to give it a try.

Signed up Sunday and sent 49 EOA notices Monday offering this option for paying. Then I try to access site and find what so many others did "account suspended". No email to me, and worse no response to the emails I send to them PLEADING. Can't even tell if anyone used it - it sucks.

I need to know how on God's green earth I am supposed to know if someone paid. I pride myself on service and I will NOT be affiliated with a firm like exchangepath who has none.

Even if EP wants to keep any funds that might have been deposited in my account, I will accept that as a small price to pay for the lesson of trying them. I desperately need to know if someone paid. HOW?

As for the free listings - gee, bet that will cost them a bundle - LOL. With 18,000 suspended (and who knows how many STILL) it smells.

I am so angry now I am considering changing my TOS, not only to include "EP not accepted" but elaborating on that issue.

Since EP will not answer mail, will they answer here? Doubt it.

Ben

Hi bennybbb,

If your account was suspended, it could simply be that when you registered you did not enter a credit card or bank account number. I realize that Exchange Path did not originally require this, but they have since changed their policy.

In order to reactivate the account, you may call their customer service department at (717) 506-2205 and have them enter the credit card number.

You may also open a new account using an alternate email address if you would like.

We are sorry about this inconvenience, and hope you are able to get this straightened out!

Diana

Hello Diana:

I appreciate your response, you obviously care far more about this ordeal than EP, whose apathy is well documented by their suspending accounts and non-response to customers.

I just got home and checked and my account is STILL suspended. Why? What threat am I to EP without a card on file? I cannot pay, I cannot collect - its silly. It would have been far less stressful to "restrict" accounts like Paypal then to suspend them.

I cannot tell if anyone paid through EP, and that I need to know. User name is same as here, bennybbb. Have them check and then email me at the address I gave them and tell me the lot numbers (if any) that paid. They can keep the damn money. I just need the info. so I can send the orders.

IMO AW made a big mistake to promote this firm. It reflects poorly on you. I also think AW should insist on answers to emails of customers that signed up, or, at the VERY least insist they answer questions posted in YOUR forums. It's outrageous.

TY again for answer Diana, my wrath is not directed at you.

I have had a ExchangePath account for months now I opened it with my X.com debit card this card number is no longer valid I did add checking account info so I could Tranfer money out a while back MY ExchangePath account Was never suspended.

SO this supension must have been hit and miss or They simply require only a bank account now to open an account.

You no... I have been using EP for quite some time now. And I have never experienced a problem! In fact, in the beginning they deposited my monies so fast into my credit card account(the very same day!) that I thought they had not. I simply called and was told that it was in fact deposited. The problem was that my credit card company had recorded it as a debit rather than a payment! I was so very impressed with the speedy service that it is my prefered method of payment. And the fact that they will put my money either in my credit card or in my bank account (my choice) is the icing on the cake! This freedom of choice lets me pay my credit card for all my business inventory purchases with-out incurring interest on my account.
It does make me wonder why someone will not enter their credit card information. It is a form of verification of who you are. If someone wants to hide, I guess they do not want to enter that information. But, I prefer to stay on the up and up. I do have extra security measures on my computer which protects it from hackers. So I am not worried about that. To make a very very long story short, This is a wonderful service and I am glad that AW is now affiliated itself with it. Way to go AW! Shake off Paypal ... they are soon to be road kill soon anyway.

I did not mean to infer that I was adverse to supplying CC info to EP.

The point is that this was not required (nor requested) at sign-up.

When I try to access my account I cannot. There is no link to supply additional information, just an email addy which I wrote twice with no response.

To have possible payments being made and to not be able to confirm them is ludicrous. To have a firm which will not answer important emails (or public forum questions) is alarming. The suspension of 18,000 accounts 2 days prior to free listing day smacks of fraud.

To those that have EP and are happy with it, good luck. I tried. I use Paypal and have never had a problem. I just thought more options meant more buyers. With EP it looks like it could amount to negs.

Not a happy camper,
Ben

PS Diana says I can create a new account with a new email addy. Fine and dandy, but I bet that won't show what I desperately need to know, i.e. who if anyone paid.

I DID supply a CC AND Bank info!

Account is suspended going on (crap, I don't even know how many days now)!

I don't know if payments are going in. I don't know what auction items need to be shipped. I don't know SQUAT!

I've call ALL the dam numbers and emailed all the dam addresses!

I find that hard to believe

I do too. Some of the "facts" are clearly wrong. It seems more likely a guess.

Clearly, something went way off track over at EP, and EP has not offered any credible explanation. Such vacuums attract posters like thunderskies.

Remarkably, my EP account is now open!

It is a mystery - no response here, no response to my email, no notice it was suspended was ever sent either. Just reopened without a lick of new information needed.

Another change? I do not have a card on file with EP and yet my account was reopened. Sheesh.

In the past few days several erroneous posts have appeared about ExchangePath™. We are providing this update to address your concerns and describe some of the recent activities taking place at ExchangePath.

This past week we did suspended some members’ accounts. These accounts were suspended for an important reason. Our fraud investigators witnessed numerous attempts by some members to open accounts in order to make fraudulent transactions. To protect all our users, both sender and receiver accounts that fit specific criteria were suspended so that an investigation could take place. Be assured that once we reactivate an account, we return valid funds to our members.

We are completing the addition of new security measures that will increase the security of your ExchangePath transactions. All account holders will now be required to submit the following additional information:
· Credit/debit card billing address (Please remember ExchangePath is only valid in the US)
· Home telephone number
· Credit/debit card verification number (the 3-digit number that appears after the 16-digit card number on the signature panel of the card)
· New credit card if your existing card on file is issued by American ExpressÒ card, DiscoverÒ card or JCBÒ card. We no longer process transactions with these issuers.
· New password help question and response

We implemented the temporary two-day hold on transactions as part of our efforts to minimize fraud taking place via ExchangePath. Once all the new security measures are in place this week, we expect this hold to be lifted.

We apologize to our consumers for interrupting our service. In order to protect those accounts in good standing, we felt it was necessary to quickly suspend all accounts willingly and unwillingly associated with suspected fraud.

We are committed to restoring service to our valued members while also creating a secure environment for their online transactions.

Sincerely,
ExchangePath

First EP apologizes for suspending the accounts, now they claim it was done deliberately due to suspicion of fraud. Paypal reverses payments made to bank accounts and EP reverses apologies. Anyone who can swallow this and continue to use them is at least forwarned of what kind of "service" you can expect.

It is so funny how Ep is being sorry for their customers. For God's sakes if they have entered already a super competitive market with this type of business procedures, I can assure anyone that this company won't be here within few months.
I hold two master degrees in Computer science and business and I am pretty amazed by the irresponsible behavior of EP managers.
- Suspending accounts
- Authorizing transactions without the consent of the customer (YEs it HAppened!!!)
- Calling people fraudulents!
- Holding funds for days and days
- Absent customer service

In the midst of this catastrophy, EP is hiring temp-workers to take care of the customers problems!!!!
I am quite sutre that services such as c2it.com, moneyzap.com, tradesafe.com (respectively backed by large banks/FC which know the business very well: Citibank, Western Union, and Fleet/Boston) will never have this type of problems.

Before running after customers and offering free listing days!! (Fake ones though), they should first stop all registrations, clean all the accounts and transactions and SERIUOUSLY RETHINK their business processes!!!!
They know pretty well that in the present market environment where dotcoms like priceline and double-click are laying off people and facing huge difficulties, they have to offer a much better service
!!!!
I cannot imagine that a company like EP is revoling around an alleged "Director of Risk management" "Sean McGinn"!!!!
Come on' They have to be much more serious than this. Even if this guy was Mike Eisner, or Einstein he won't be able to resolve all EP's problems!!!
Result: poor service, frustrated customer resulting in more demands, less patience, harassing EP's customer service, and on and on ....
I can swear to you that from reading the threads and my personal experience with this company, I can easily write a best-seller!!

They ask sellers to filter their customers!!! How do they want us to do that!!! without giving up the buyer's address or some portion of it (zip code), BIDPAY does it!!! They claim they do not want to disclose private info!!!! YEah right!!! They gave my personal home number to my customers!!!! my HOME phone number!!!!

I had enough, I heard all the excuses. NOW it is time to take action!!! I have already opened thru Yahooa amerchant accpunt: $175 one time set up fee and just $0.30 per transaction.!!! I will be filing a civil law suit against this company if they do not resolve my problems within the next few days!!! I have nothing to loose. I have all the facts on my side!!!

So, in conclusion. Instead of establishing a strategy that will allow them to distinguish themselves from paypal and the other payment services, they just screwed up !!!

PS: just a small real joke:!!! I have recently moved from office and could not read my customers' emails for 48 hours!!! Result, on the third day and after shipping all my customers products via UPS!!! I receive a phoen call from EP:, the customer service representative in heavy voice "mr X if you do not ship the items" we will contact the police!!!
Come on!! Be serious. You gotta be kidding I said!!! I thought it was a joke. But I swear it was correct!!!! If only could post on this thread emails I have received from EP, Auction Watch will have a higher attendence than ever.
As The French say "A bon entendeur:"!!! They should hire some people from this thread to help them stay in the market!!!!

I've never had a problem with paypal or billpoint. But now I have a suspended account with exchange path. As far as I know there is no money in there, except for the $10.00 I was told through AW I would recieve for using them as a payment option.... (Now that would be insane as the account is suspended :p ) ...Anyway as far as I know I never even used them before this, so It cannot be a fraudulent use issue. I sent email and am awaiting a reply...Until that time when this is resolved to my satisfaction I'm pulling exchange Path's option off my auctions.
