Today is December 15th. The day we were supposed to have 'guaranteed' delivery of our PS2's from Gametek. We have all know for several weeks that this outfit is a scam. Paypal has been far from willing to supply info or offer a timly refund. I am asking all victims of the Gametek fiasco to consider calling your Credit Card company for a charge back. I think this should be done on Sunday, December 17th. This will have given Paypal a full day after the guarantee date to respond back to us. Please do the following:
1. Transfer any remaining funds out of your Paypal account. (Once you issue a charge back Paypal will freeze your account.)
2. Close your Paypal account. I have heard that it is next to impossible to do this so you may want to contact your bank to issue a new account number or block any transactions from Paypal.
3. Grab your Credit Card statement and have a copy of any Paypal correspondence handy. Call your Credit Card Company and ask for a charge back on a fraudulent charge on your statement.
Spread the word for a Sunday, December 17th D-day for Paypal charge back.

Hey everyone.
I got a call from Paypal about 1 or 2pm this afternoon, asking me if I had received the PS2 yet. I told them no, since I've not gotten anything in the mail nor heard from Gametek for over 3 weeks. The PayPal caller commented she understood, and stated that my Credit Card was being re-credited with the full amount. I've just checked my account on Paypal, and sure enough, my credit card was re-credited.
So PayPal /is/ following through on their promise folks, so hang in there.

So Paypaldamon,
Off the record, has there been anyone at all, even a single person that you know of that has actually recieved a PS2 from Gametek?

Ummm.... hmmmm... I am new to this board and only just yesterday posted my first contribution.
Now, I went to look at the replies and cannot find the topic. It actually appears to have been deleted, as the link I have to it does not work.
Was this topic deleted?
<a href="http://www.auctionwatch.com/mesg/read.html?num=41&thread=5411"> Got Money Back From PP for GameTek Purchase </a>
and if so, did I post something I shouldn't have? How odd. How very, very odd.
Does this type of thing happen often? Or did PayPal request that everyone not be aware of how to contact them (via the number given here) about the credit to everyone's account.
I am perplexed.
