EVERYONE PLEASE BE ALERTED TO THIS!! DO NOT LEAVE MONEY IN YOUR EXCHANGEPATH ACCOUNT. I HAVE HAD MONEY TAKEN FROM MY ACCOUNT WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR AUTHORIZATION IN THE AMOUNT TOTALLING NEARLY $900 FOR MERCHANDISE THAT EITHER WAS SENT OR WAS ON ITS WAY OUT MY DOOR. NO PHONE CALLS ARE RETURNED. NO EMAILS ARE ANSWERED. THIS COMPANY IS FRAUDULENT AND ACCUSES OTHERS OF BEING SO WHEN THEY OPENLY TAKE MONEY FROM YOU WITHOUT ANY AUTHORIZATION. BEWARE. THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING. THEY TOLD ME I HAD $0 BALANCE AFTER SUSPENDING MY ACCOUNT (BY MR. SEAN MCGINN, THE ALLEGED DIRECTOR OF RISK MANAGEMENT) WHEN I ACTUALLY HAD $1500 IN MY ACCOUNT!!!! HE NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED ANY PHONE CALLS OR EMAILS. I ADVISE EVERYONE TO GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN! BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE...WHEN IT SEEMS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT IS!!!
A NOTE TO PAM / EXCHANGEPATH: UNTIL THIS MATTER IS CLEARED AND I AM COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH THE RESOLUTION, I WILL CONTINUE TO WARN EVERYONE I CAN ABOUT YOUR COMPANY (OR ALLEGED COMPANY!) YOU CANNOT RUN A BUSINESS LIKE THIS!!!

I sell computers, monitors and digital cameras which are high value items. If I get paid for just one or two items, it will quickly total this amount. I had been transferring the sums each day to my bank account until this MESS began. Because I need to pay off my credit cards for the merchandise that I purchase to sell. I got the typical 'Account Suspended' alert like everyone else on these threads. What a LUDICROUS company!!

I really hurt for you! All of these so-called "payment services" are starting to really sour the auction experience!
2001 I'm switching to BillPoint & BidPay as my preferred services. I'll keep my PP account for those winners who insist. EP goes into the Porta-Potty where it belongs!

Before you give up on online payments entirely, I am still gung-ho on Western Union's Moneyzap. I had a question for them Sunday nite. I called their 800 number and got an immediate answer. I asked my question and was told someone would call me back. They did - ten minutes later. What service! They also contact every payer when the first payment is made, so that every account gets validated. It takes 2 days from when the payment is made until the funds are available and during this period the validation is done. I had a customer pay me and two days later the payment was cancelled. He emailed me to say that a medical emergency had made him unavailable when they called. He called back and the payment was re-sent. Western Union claims they have never had a charge back due to a stolen credit card. The only drawback is the two day wait, but better safe than sorry. Anyway, Achex which works bank account to bank account, is still a better method than checks or money orders and instant.

tomwii: I dont seem to have a problem. First, I put in my auctions "use your credit card free with Western Union's Moneyzap or send a free electronic check with Achex. Paypal non credit card payments only. I don't recommend Paypal, but offer it only for those who insist. If you want to know why, see http://www.ygoodman.com/paypal.html"
When the auction ends, I send my EOA with a recommendation of Moneyzap, explaining that Western Union is a company which can be trusted, that it is safer to open a free account with WU than to send your credit card info to dozens of individual sellers, that WU will actually contact the payer and verify id and that they have an 800 number for customer service.
I get quite a few customers signing up with no problem. I've gone from 8-10 PP customers a week, to about 5 MZ, 1 Achex a couple of checks and money orders and 1 PP in about 3 weeks. It's all in the presentation.

*PAM* -- ARE YOU SERIOUS??? DO YOU THINK THAT I HAVE NOT EMAILED YOUR COMPANY MORE THAN ENOUGH TIMES TO WARRANT A PROPER REPLY?? DO YOU THINK I HAVE NOT CALLED MORE THAN ENOUGH TIMES? IN FACT, I PHONED TWICE LAST NIGHT TO YOUR ALLEGED COMPANY WITH TWO PROMISES TO RECEIVE A RETURN CALL WITHIN THE HOUR....GUESS WHAT, BIG SURPRISE, NO CALL BACK!! EVEN YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE REP (AFTER HEARING MY STORY) TOLD ME I SHOULD SUE YOUR COMPANY!!! THIS IS THE MOST ABSURD THING I HAVE EVER HEARD!!!

***I SECOND MINOUCHE'S WARNING***
Leaving money in exchangepath is as good as giving it away. Ive yet to see the $330 that I left in my (locked) account. Theyve told me countless times to leave my ID, email and phone number, and that they would call back. Think my money has appeared? Think Ive gotten a call back? Not a chance.
Im sick of dealing with them. Im planning on filing complaints with the FTC in the morning. I _strongly_ suggest that everyone else do the same.
I also think Ive tracked down the company that exchangepath does it's transactions through (PTI). Im going to give them a call in the morning and see whether they really are the company that handles exchangepath. If they are, I plan on finding out what theyre doing taking such crooked companies as clients.

Did I try the long distance and toll-free numbers? Of course I tried the long distance and toll free numbers! Ive been sent in circles over there for days!
Ive tried being nice, Ive tried being patient and Ive tried being calm. Exchangepath has taken great pains to prove to me that nice, patient and calm will only get me walked on. Their actions have made it absolutely clear that they have no intention of responding to "nice, patient and calm" with anything but ever changing excuses and broken promises of callbacks.
Ive tried the respect and kindness. Now its time to try PTI, the FTC and the New York State Attorney General (exchangepath's offices appear to be located in New York State)
This "take the money and run" attitude is absolutely unacceptable.

PAM,
I HAVE WRITTEN TEN (10) EMAILS TO YOUR ALLEGED DIRECTOR OF RISK MANAGEMENT YESTERDAY, MR. SEAN MCGINN, AT [email protected]. NO RESPONSE. NO PHONE CALL. SEEMS LIKE A PATTERN, EH? NOT ONLY HAVE I WRITTEN YESTERDAY BUT MANY MANY TIMES BEFORE. AND BY THE WAY, WHO WILL REIMBURSE ME FOR THE $50 IN PHONE BILL CHARGES FOR CALLING YOUR COMPANY THIS MONTH WITH ABSOLUTELY NO RESULTS AND NO PHONE CALL BACK. AND WHAT ABOUT THE $1500 THAT MR. MCGINN CLAIMED I DID NOT HAVE IN MY ACCOUNT WHEN I ACTUALLY DID. AND WHAT ABOUT THE MONEY THAT YOUR COMPANY KEEPS TRANSFERRING OUT OF MY ACCOUNT FOR NO REASON AND WITH NO AUTHORIZATION.
IT IS AN ABSURD CONUNDRUM. YOU HAVE SUSPENDED MY ACCOUNT. I HAVE (OR SHOULD I SAY HAD) $1500 IN MY ACCOUNT AT THE TIME OF MR. MCGINN'S EMAIL TO ME ON 12/8 ( IN WHICH HE STATES I HAVE $0 ~ OBVIOUSLY A LIE!!). I CANNOT WITHDRAW THIS AMOUNT TO MY BANK ACCOUNT. THEREFORE, I CANNOT SHIP THE MERCHANDISE. THEN YOU DECIDE TO TRANSFER THE MONEY TO PEOPLE WHO DID NOT EVEN PAY ME FOR MERCHANDISE ON MY ACCOUNT!!! I BELIEVE THIS COMPANY IS ABSURD.
IN CONCLUSION, PAM, WHY DON'T YOU WALK OVER AND ASK MR. SEAN MCGINN TO READ THE EMAILS THAT HE HAS RECEIVED FROM ME YESTERDAY (THERE ARE TEN OF THEM EXACTLY). I'M SURE THEY WILL NOT BE HARD TO FIND. I AM THE ONE THAT YOU HAVE STOLEN $1500 FROM!!!
YOU CAN ALSO ASK HIM WHY HE HAS DECIDED THAT IT IS IN HIS AUTHORITY TO RELEASE MY PERSONAL PRIVATE PHONE NUMBER TO SOME RANDOM CALLER WHO ASKED HIM FOR IT AND WHY NOW I AM RECEIVING FOUL-MOUTHED MESSAGES ON MY VOICE MAIL. I BELIEVE THERE IS A REASON THAT I PAY EACH MONTH TO HAVE MY PRIVATE PHONE NUMBER UNLISTED!!! IT IS ALSO AMUSING TO LEARN THAT ALTHOUGH I HAVE MR. MCGINN'S PERSONAL AND PRIVATE CELLULAR PHONE NUMBER, OFFICE PHONE NUMBER AND OTHER CONTACT INFORMATION, THAT I HAVE NOT PROVIDED THIS ON ANY FORUM (BESIDES HIS EMAIL ABOVE WHICH I HAVE SEEN IN MANY OTHER THREADS.) REGARDLESS, I LOOK FORWARD TO TAKING MY CLAIMS TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT IN NY. ALL OF THE FACTS ARE MORE THAN CLEAR.

Well, I need to take back the thanks I gave to Pam earlier. I did get an email from exchangepath.com last week, but it has been very very quiet after that. I have emailed every exchangepath email address I have. I have called all the numbers I could find. Nothing.
Today I finally did get to talk to some kid named Joseph at the 1-800-987-2675 number. He gave me the 1-877-890-4885 number and mumbled something about Shawn and risk management. When I asked whether anyone ever answered at the 877 number he kind of laughed and told me the longest he has ever held before he gave up was 40 minutes so he didn't know.
If anyone has any luck, please let everyone know.
Thanks.
I am beginning to become very familiar with the New York radio station Jammin 105. . .(the on hold music for exchangepath's 877 number).
