I apologize in advance for once again asking this question! I am ready to cry uncle and give up on my 2.75 program which I am willing to finally accept as terminally corrupted. Please, for the last time (promise!) walk me through step by step what I have to do to get the new version. Last night I realized, that if worse comes to worse, auction manager does not take too much longer especially since I have to look up all catagories before I use my Ampro.

Thanks,
Elaine

Hi Erost,

Why are you needing to look up the category numbers before using AMPro? The categories in AMPro should be correct. To update to the new version all you would need to do is synchonize your current version. Once you synchronize it will automatically update.

I guess I am not making myself clear. I never had any problem with AMPRO until 275. That version sucks up all my resources. I shut down every program, turn off the virus scan and firewall and DSL until I am ready to upload and after a few ads that isn't enough and it freezes and shuts down. What makes it shut down faster than anything else though. Last night was the final straw as it kept on shutting down no matter what and I finally used Auction Manager and it wasn't half bad. So now that I know I have a back up if the updated version doesn't work for me, I won't be out of business. So how do I get rid of this version, keep my pictures and get the new one.

Thanks,
Elaine

Hi,

I am still waiting to hear a reply. In the meantime I tried to uninstall and I get this message about "dwAXExnt.dll" possibly being a shared file and do I want to delete it too. The windows message says that if I keep it it shouldn't do any harm, so I kept it. Then after I uninstall I get a message about several files that couldn't be uninstalled and would have to be done manually. Like I would know how or if I should. So after this I reinstall the new Ampro and it doesn't work. So what do I do?

Thanks,
Elaine

Hello,

If your control panel still lists AuctionWatch in the add/remove programs section, uninstall it again and say yes to remove those files.

Next, go to the Program Files directory and open your AuctionWatch folder up. Manually move your images folder out onto your desktop for a backup, then delete the entire AuctionWatch folder from the Program Files folder.

C:\Program Files\AuctionWatch

When you are finished, reload the program off of your installer or download a new copy. When it is installed, manually move that images folder back over into the AuctionWatch directory.

Hi,

Just want to get this clear, if possible! What is a dll file and do I need it for anything else??? Secondly under C Program Files Auction Watch I now have: Ampro (with the blue green logo), Ampro notepad, Ampro.log (windows logo), AMreun (blue/green letters logo,AMrerun (notepad) and AMupd (blue/green AW letters logo). So I can SAFELY remove all files from AMPRO with the add/remove (including the DLL file)? and then remove these?

Thanks for your patience,
Elaine

Hi erost,

You may safely remove all files you mentioned, but I would recommend not removing the DLL file - this is a Windows file type that is sometimes shared by other applications. You might want to retain that file and delete all other AM Pro files.

Great! I've been having the same frustrating problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled. Didn't get of .dlls. Now I have lost all of my inventory. I had over 150 auctions ready to go. Is there any way to get these back?

Christopher & Diana,

THANKS! IT WORKS!!!! Last question, I did as suggested and moved the images folder to the desk top but I must have done something wrong because AW started to sync and upload all the pix again. So I am assuming that I can delete the desktop folder? It is a duplicate of the same folder in the AW program files right?

Thanks so much!
Elaine

Hi Elaine,

Yes, if you synched your images down into Pro already go ahead and delete that folder off of your desktop. That was there only to manually move over so you would not have to synch them again, but since you already have then you don't need it anymore.

Glad to hear you are back up and running.

HI HALGAHAWK,

Reinstalling your software will not affect the auctions that you have already uploaded.
