Hi Ok4leather,

Runtime error 429 means bad installation of the software. Please try uninstalling/reinstalling SMPro. Let me know if you continue to get the error.

I was getting the ILLEGAL act error, so I uninstalled 4.0 but keep the shared files. I just tried to reinstall 3.75 from your link on the other post and I still get the errors.
What should I do reinstall 4.0 and if it does not work - uninstall again and remove all the files?
Also how can you save 3.75 and still install 4.0 as an AW member said he did? One just replaces the other on my computer?
Thanks for any help

Hi ladyjewels2000,

You probably do not need to remove any shared files before installing SMPro 4.0; but could you please let us know what the exact errror message is? This would help us better understand what the actual problem is.

You cannot run both AMPro 3.75 and SMPro 4.0 on the same computer, as indeed one replaces the other.

I don't know which files these were that are shared files now - I used my uninstaller. That's why I thought it would be best to reinstall 4.0 and then uninstall it (if it didn't work) and allow it to uninstall all files this time.
The original error was the "this program has proformed an illegal operation and is closing now -- something like that.
Have some saved batches from 3.75 - should I delete them too?
When I tried to reinstall 3.75, I saved it to a disk so no harm there.
Thanks

Hi ladyjewels2000,

If you are using the uninstaller, there is no need to save the batches or other data files. These data files, in fact, are the only ones that are shared among versions.

Please go ahead with installing SMPro 4.0 again; make sure that there are no other programs running at the same time. If you still get the error, please check the full error message - there must be also some details about which module caused the crash. Please copy here this information.

Thanks,

-Radu

I deleted those batches and shut down everything. Then uploaded from your link on one of these pages and everything went real smooth. Did a test auction which appears fine too.
Maybe the problem is with your updates.
Thanks and we'll keep our fingers crossed.
