Ok, I had this problem with version 3.1, after a few listings, it would shut down on me. I would restart and do a few more, then restart and do a few more. Hoped that version 4 would not do this. I uninstalled the old, installed the new, every time I went to the category, I would get an error "MSVBM60.DLL" Saw this message and your intructions to another to download the visual basic, did that, went and did all new updates to Microsoft, and now if I try to edit or do too many, AW just shuts down totally, no message, no anything. Help please! I have Windows ME....really hoped the new version would not do this...but.....

Hi atomaset, I have been having same problem seems like for ever, now. I have uninstalled this programs and downloaded it so many times now I can do it in my sleep! I'm not doing to much of that either. This a "Very Frustrating". I had many A.W. people trying to help, but I think they are totally baffled, some think its my computer not accepting the V4.0, but I turely think they have some thing else wrong any just can't put their finger on it! They will tell you to try many things out, and you should who knows maybe you'll be Luckier than I have been. I have sent many Illegal Operations, totally copied this all takes alot of time.
I haven't listed any time for so long not sure, what I'll do. I could use the A.W. site to list from but its so slow. I guess one item a night is much better than NONE!
I just thought I'd let you know your not alone with this messy problem. I hope you get your going. I will be watching to see if you leave a up and running message. "Good Luck,"

Hi Gypsy, glad I'm not alone. It was frustrating with the 3rd version, but at least I could do 2 or 3 before the shutdown...now I can't even do one! Hope to have good news soon, I can't afford this.

Good Morning atomaset, and anyone else that has been reading these interesting messages.
I tried something last night, and it seems to be (working sh-sh) I don't want to say it to loudly, for fear it'll back fire for me. "lol"
I don't no if it will help any one or not. "BUT"
hey, I was left with nothing for so long.
Some of these instructions came from the A.W. helpers, this is what I did,I do not no if it's the answer to your problems or not. Totally up to the individual,
-OFF Net
-I uninstalled ampro from my computer.
-Closed out every thing Except "explorer & systray".(using the Ctrl & Alt & Delete Keys).
-did a complete "SHUT DOWN" of my computer.
-turn it on again.
-I Went on Net/Line to Auction Watch Site,to Message Center and Downloaded the "OLD PROGRAM", to MY Computer.
-went Off the Net, opened MY Computer & downloaded Ampro from there. Once it was finished it opened up, I SHUT IT DOWN,
-I did another total SHUT DOWN,
-I started it up again, and OPENED vbrun60sp5, then once it was finished I opened ampro and "LISTED and LAUNCHED" "8" ITEMS",
"I'm HAPPY NOW (I haven't been happy for quite awhile, it feels great again),and I just hope things continue working today for me. I will soon find out.
"NOTHING IS EVER, FOR SURE IN THIS LIFE"
I wish anyone that is having problems,
"Good Luck."
I might be back in short order and then maybe my "GHOST" has left for good
"MANY THANKS TO THE EVER SO PATIENT "AUCTION WATCH CUSTOMER CARE" WORKERS," Some that really stuck in there when it was very "BITTER", Christopher, Sonya , everyone else there at Auction Watch,"Great Hard Working People"."THANKS"

This gives you the old 3.75 version, but at least you'll be able to list, "I hope".
Let me no how you make out atomaset, I'd like to no.
I spent part of the afternoon and morning listing, I have about 9 items ready for launching, (I'm slow at typing,"lol" I went to do the 9th one and it disappeared again, so this isn't fool proof, yet. I figure after listing 7 or 8 items, and saved them. I'm going to do a complete shut down of my computer and start up again, then start the program up again, fresh. It's seems to get draggy or hesitating, like it needs a break or refreshing.
"Good Luck,atomaset,"

Tara....any word on your investigation??? I have done everything, including the advice that Gypsy gave me. At most, I can launch 2 auctions without it shutting down on me. And to make matters worse, I have to restart my computer each time for that to work. This is not what I call "Bulk listing," and I am very very frustrated. Last post was June 28, I see others are having the same problem, so it is not just me.

Hi atomaset,

Please let us know if the error message is always about MSVBM60.DLL. Also, does it appear on any specific operation, or it just pops up whatever you might be doing at that moment?

I understand that you:
- updated Internet Explorer to v6.0
- updated the Visual Basic run-time files (vbrun60sp5.exe)
- checked the Windows Update site.

Do you have such problems with any other program? And do you use any antivirus program?

Thanks,

-Radu

Hi Radu, This happened with the previous version as well. I have done all updates available, downloaded the VBasic file from the link you gave me, everything. Ok, I open a batch, begin a listing, click on category....boom, it shuts down, sometimes with that message, sometimes no message, just disappears. Other times, I get one listing done, save the file because I am paranoid and am tired of retyping, then when I attempt the second listing, as soon as I try, I get the error. Other times, its when I try to add my pics. Other times, its when I try to edit a batch I already have saved. Once it shuts down on me, its hopeless, I have no choice but to restart my computer. Then I get one more done, then on the 2nd it shuts down again, then I have to restart again. My virus software is McAfee. Do I need to get rid of the virus software? Then what?? Sometimes I get the message, other times no message, nothing....nada....what is going on?

Okay, for example, after typing my message to you, I opened SMpro, clicked on new listing, it shutdown and I got the famous MSVBVM60.DLL error. Now I will have to restart my computer in order to get another listing done.

Hi atomaset,

Thanks for the extra information. No, you do not need to get rid of the antivirus software; it's only that, without a clear pattern for the SMPro error that you get, we are also looking into possibilities, such as a virus, bad computer memory or a conflict with a background program.

Again, I understand that you only have problems with SMPro. All other programs on this computer work properly.

Besides the antivirus software, is there any other background task running?

Hi atomaset, I still have problems also even with the reloaded 3.75, it wasn't fool proof but it allows me to list a few items. It was better for me than nothing which I was getting with the V4.0. I will be watching to see if you get this resolved, because I have the "very same" problem. And wore my self out trying things any more. "Good Luck,"

Radu, I went on a search, (crt/alt/del), disabled McAfee, Microsoft money, which apparently runs in the background)and I was able to list 4 items, launched them for this evening. Then I went back in AWpro a few minutes later, and after typing my descriptions, etc, when I clicked on category, I was shut down again with the msvbvm60.dll message. So shutting down everything works the first time, but if you open AWpro again, it doesn't work, even though the background programs were still shut down. I have a cable modem. When synching auctions the first time, it apparently has to connect to the internet, could that be opening something again that interferes with doing a new batch? Just grasping at straws, trying to help you to help us. Thanks, Arlene

Hi Arlene,

Thanks for the extra information. If SMPro works (apparently) better with less programs in the background, could you please check memory usage on your system:

1. Start SMPro and click Help > About. Please copy the values for 'Memory free' and 'Memory in use' from the lower right corner of the window.

2. Also, please look at the Windows Me numbers, by clicking Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information, and in the System Summary tab checking the values for:

Total Physical Memory
Available Physical Memory
Total Virtual Memory
Available Virtual Memory

As for the cable modem connecting to the Internet, it shouldn't really interfere with how SMPro creates batches.

Thanks,

-Radu

I have been having the same problem with SMP. Everytime I try to choose a category for an auction I get an error message or a fatal exception message. I have plenty of free memory on my computer and have e-mailed customer support and tried everything they suggested - nothing works. I had problems with the previous version but at least I could do a few auctions before it locked up. I have done Windows maintenance and used Norton Utilities and according to these programs there are no viruses or problems with my computer. So the problem is apparently with the SMP program.

I am using the 3.75 version, tried a test auction last night and everything was fine. Now today I am actually trying to list some auctions and every time I click on new listing I get the MSVBVM60.DLL error and have to shut down.
First time I have seen it. Although I have not listed any auctions now for a few weeks.
Is there a solution for this as yet? Any suggestions as to what I can do? Oh, I am using IE 6.0 and have plenty of memory, cleared my cache, temp files and offline content. So far have done everything I can think of.

HELP PLEASE.....should also say I am computer tupid...er...challanged, so easy does it.

Thanks,

Yvonne

Hi atomaset, So curiosity is getting to me,How did you make out any further in solving you problem yet? I have been watching and really hoping your going to as problems solved! I'm still fighting away with AMPRO 3.75, I manage to get a few listed, but than none! O.k. I'll keep an eye out to see if your problems have been ended.

Hi all,

We are still looking into what could be the cause of your problems. The symptoms point to a Windows resource allocation issue, and we try to determine if there is any patch that would fix the problem, or on the contrary a conflicting program which might make it worse.

In the meantime, please try to follow these rules while working with SMPro:
- when editing, keep just one batch open at once; i.e., open the batch, edit its items, upload perhaps, then close it before opening another one for editing. You can have multiple opened batches when synchronizing.
- keep just one listing opened at once
- if you work with profiles, do not open more than one at once.

Please let us know if doing this helps with the time SMPro is able to run without crashing.

Thanks,

-Radu

Hi All,
really enjoying this message stream. Me, veteran dummy that I am, deleted "Business manager Pro" (Only a storage warehouse) and upgraded my "Auction Manager" to "Sales Manager Pro". Big, Big mistake. But I'm not doing any of that "installing & uninstalling" stuff. I can read the righting on the wall. Even if you were to go to NASA and borrow one of there computers, this program still wouldn't work. My suggestion to all who must have there listings up is to just do it online. I know, some of the pages load horribly slow, but you will be able to write at least 6 - 10 listings in 6 hours.

Just an update...the only way I can still list is to go to my taskbar and quit absolutely everything, Outlook express, McAfee, anything...when its totally empty, I can list about 5 or 6 now before it shuts down on me. Frustrating because I typically like to have IE open to Ebay, sometimes to look up categories, prices, etc, while listing....can't do that now.....must get all my info up front, close everything down, then run SMpro....sure hope a patch is on the way.....

Hi,I checked out my dates as to when I had problems it goes back to May-20th-02! There could have been more that I deleted. It will soon be 2 months! Of this frustating program problem.
I paid $200.00 U.S. ($305.00 Canadian!)Hoping this would be the most economical way for me cost wise, well if this doesn't get fixed soon, my year will be up and money spent on frustration. Hum-m , don't think this sounds fair. Why can A.W. just go back to the 3.75 get working properly and mean time take the V4.0 and give it to the engineers to play with and let them test run frustrations at their costs, not ours!
This is all wrong. Just need to blow some stream, again.

Hi Gypsygrams,
Have any ideas why my computer crashes everytime I click the "HTML" button? You seem to have the most experiance with this program. Please don't ask me to "install & reinstall". I am allergic to that process.

Hi sejohns,"sorry," the only experience I seem to have is exactly that, uninstalling & installing vicious circle, on going, the only time I can get more than 4 items listed is to do a complete shut down, and that's debatable. "Experienced" HUM-M-M, Not much help for you sejohn,When I can't get this to function properly, Maybe Auction Watch will help you out. I Think we'll just have to have this Patience A.W. says to have, I seem to have run out out that also. "Good Luck, sejohn,"
