I haven't listed auctions since the beginning of summer and I'm just starting again. The postage has changed since I last listed. I included an auto calculator within my listings so buyers can enter their zip code to determine the USPS Priority shipping costs. My question is: What happens in SMPro's checkout? How does the buyer enter that cost in the checkout? Do I need to include the weight of each item prior to sending out the WBN? The weight of each item is included in the HTML of the zone calulator in each listing, but I'm not sure how to get it in the checkout. Does the buyer enter the weight and/or amount at checkout? Also, I've changed my preferences to USPS for the new insurance rate and it shows $1.30 for the first $50.00. However, when I click on the link from the WBN that is sent to the buyer, it shows insurance to be $1.10, which is the old amount. Does anyone know how to make sure the buyer can checkout with ease? Thank you!

Hello,
You will need to set up your preferences online, in Global Preferences, to indicate you are taking USPS priority calculated. If you do not do that then checkout will not automatically calculate the amount. You can also set up your insurance preferences there. When you do that, synchronize Pro, then quit and restart the program for the changes to apply.

Thank you Sonya.....I had already set the preferences, but I didn't synchronize. I went back in and set everything again, and synchronized. Then I clicked on the WBN copy that I received to go to checkout and my customer who won 2 bids, had both items listed in checkout, but there was $0.00 listed for shipping. I still don't understand how that amount is going to be calculated. Where does checkout find out the weight of the shipment??? Does the buyer enter that? Why is $0.00 showing up for Priority shipping when I checked the calculated preference? This can cause me a lot of emails going back and forth to tell the buyer the weight of the item.

Hello,
After you synchronize, quit and restart Pro. You then have to select USPS Priority (calculated) from the shipping carrier list. You'll know you have it correct when it says (cal'c) in the price box.

I really appreciate you taking the time to help me. Maybe I'm not being clear enough in what I need to know. I have already done all that you suggested to do, before I wrote in here asking for help, except for synchronizing, which I went back and completed everything again to make sure it's all set.
What I need to know is: Is there a place in the checkout for the buyer to enter the weight of the item? I didn't list the weight of the item in my auction, other than in the HTML for the auto-calculator in my auction listing. Other than that, there is no place I have listed the weight of the item. Am I going to have to let every buyer know the weight of the item so they can get it calculated in the checkout. I will list the weight in future auction listings, but I don't have them listed in present listings.
I only go into the first page of the checkout using the copy of the link I receive when the WBN is sent out. I don't go to the second page of it because I would have to enter the buyer's information, and that would be using the checkout that they need to use. So....I don't know what they are going to be seeing when they check out. I'm only trying to figure out what problems lie ahead when they use checkout, and where I list the weight of each item. I hope I've made it more clear regarding what I'm asking in the way of help.
Thank you so much.

Hi Judy,
You have to enter in the weight and the dimensions of the package in order to get it to calculate accurately. The buyer does not enter the weight. I checked your preferences and see you have set it up correctly.

Thank you for you assistance Sonya! I see that I neglected to enter the weight and dimensions in my basic information listing page. That's what the problem was. There was one batch of listings that I forgot to save. I was able to go back to the saved ones and enter the weight and dimensions. Is there a way I can open the listings I didn't save, so I can enter the weight and dimension in those listings? I really appreciate all your information.

Hello,
Do you mean active auctions? If so, you will need to edit the WBN for each of those auctions. From your control panel, click the Active link. Select all of your auctions and hit the Set WBN icon. Then, select the first auction and hit the Edit WBN button. Since you have it set up in your preferences now that you are accepting USPS calculated, it will be a choice in your shipping drop down. Choose it, then save your changes. You will have to do this for each auction as unfortunately you cannot do it for all of them at once. When your auctions close the auto WBN will go out with USPS priority calculated as the shipping choice.
